our own, un-resolved problems (e.g. African Americans)...reminds me of a Sunday School class were the instructor said something like "Don't worry about the speck in your brother's eye while ignoring the plank in your own".
We gain credibility and respect when we acknowledge our own failings while showing our concrete efforts to resolve them...that's critical in doing our part to make this planet we share, better...sound reasonable...or is our primary responsibility to prop up the "Brand" at all costs?
Did you really just compare the state of today's U.S. with the China/Uyghur situation? That's a feasible analogy to you?
who are clearly not happy with the 'status quo'...
Are you saying our U.N. Ambassador should never, ever say a "disparaging word" about the USA, even when the whole world can see videos of the George Floyd trial, BLM demonstrations, and riots?...how do you intend to "spin" that?
Nail on the head, IMO. What perplexes me is that over 80% of the African American community votes Democratic. Yep...the "status quo" just ain't good enough.
they appreciate the Democrats fighting for Equal Rights, Minimum Wages and Voting Rights, so naturally they're going to vote for them. Now, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the Republican Party supporting those same objectives, while championing truly sound fiscal policies that still acknowledging a supportive/collaborative role for government. There's a lot more I can and will say on this, but I'll leave it there for the moment.
We need BOTH parties, but right now...as evidenced by the ever widening fracture within the GOP...we're losing the balance we need, and part of the reason has to do with not fighting for the basic rights that Black Americans need and care about.
Yes, both parties fight for equal rights, voters rights, and the minimum wage. Just different perspectives and different tactics. The Democratic party provides NOTHING to minorities other than just enough for them to get by. This is what you call "keeping the constituency".
There's a growing amount of Blacks in the Republican party. Hopefully that number will continue to grow.

Amazon) and pick up Stuart Stevens' book "It Was All a Lie". He was a career strategist for the GOP, and he'll set you straight on 'Racism' and the 'modern' Republican Party...far better than I could ever do. What you're spouting is nothing more than a well-worn trope. The Black leadership are very well schooled in politics after all these years and know who to side with...like they did with Biden in 2020. They know they can't get everything that's due them, but they know where to place their bets...BTW, what is the racial background of our new U.N. Ambassador, or for that matter our new Secretary of Defense?
This is going to be super hard to swallow and you may never admit a change in perspective on this board...it wasn't easy for Mr. Stevens, either.
No thanks. Trump is gone, time to move on. My point stands about the Democratic Party. You fakers act as if you’re helping the black community, when you’re actually just keeping a lot of them in the projects. There’s no encouragement from your party for blacks to better themselves. You should be ashamed.
ever heard about Donald Trump...read the book and then we can talk.
Oh, and it's not 'my party' we're talking about...the GOP is collapsing as we speak (witness the long list of former Republicans as well as those who can no longer support the current leadership)...I'm arguing for a "resurrection" of the GOP...if I wanted them buried, I'd do all I could to encourage their current behavior.
And please stop changing the narrative. The Democratic Party has failed blacks, but please keep feeding them scraps. Keeping that constituency.
information that's available to you. What in the world are you afraid of?...Do you not believe in acquiring new knowledge?...Is there no possibility that someone else, beside you, could have the right answer? All of us have biases and perceptions that aren't totally accurate...just today I read an article posted by another Forum member that really jogged my thoughts on the recent violent attacks...I'm going to look into it more and likely amend my position, if only slightly...so, I encourage you to step out...reach out...and know more about what's going on.
There’s a reason the Democratic Party is called the “Plantation Party”. I’m sure you can read between the lines...or not.

civil rights (i.e. Lyndon Johnson's administration, inherited from the Kennedys), and more recently, the opposition by Democrats to new voting restrictions targeted at citizens of color. As I mentioned just a moment ago, Black leadership is well schooled in politics and their money/hopes are on the Democrats. Frankly, I don't think they're wedded forever to that party, so if the GOP can purge the white supremacists from their ranks and start thinking of the long-term, they might just return to being the valued 'balance' we all need.

It's common with dishonest scum like conner to try to make believe that someone said something they didn't. You know damn well I didn't say that Biden's worthless ambassador could never say anything critical about the U.S.
Second, calling the situation in China a "conflict" is asinine spin.
Third, drawing an equivalency to black America's current situation fails every basic level of logic.
describe what the Ambassador should have said when it comes to such problematic issues. Just saying "You're Wrong!!!" doesn't help much. You obviously have strong feelings on this, so hang in there...I'll listen.
You're a dishonest propaganda hack. Your tell is obvious. Don't pretend you want a debate.
think it's the correct one...I've seen lots of others on this board do it.
downward from there.
families growing up without a father in the home? Ooooh?
"African-American family structure" as a start. There are some sources in it that would side with your thinking, but others with a different perspective...but you decide.
they only have to comply

he's a drug addicted, lying, morally bankrupt POS. So figure out where u stand.
join the fun!
we have a wealth disparity problem
if some people want to work while others don't.
have our own racial problem that transcends the WI issue...China also has an 'Ethnic Conflict' (i.e. Racial) going on...they just use heavy handed, autocratic means to deal with it.
it as opposed to our adversaries who have only embraced it more.

Our Constitution specifically called black slaves 4/5ths of a person. We also had Jim Crow into the late 60’s, not 1860’s but 1960’s. It clearly is our original sin.
Acknowledge it and the strides to overcome it while not allowing it to be used as a club by autocrats like China and Russia.
"woke" corporate America. How exactly is that much different?
with civil rights laws. "Original sin" does not refer to a "sin" at founding, but rather the concept of inherent sin, which stains all of as Americans. Slavery was probably an economic hindrance in delaying industrialization in the South. You batted 0.00 on all that.
Good to see you moving from Woke-curious to full Woke. When I call it, boy do I call it. The Frank L of ten years ago wouldn't recognize the 2021 incarnation.
for a nation. Jim Crow did not end in 1965. Full desegregation didn’t occur until the end of the decade. When was the fair housing act passed? Try 1968.
Any other stupid BS points you want to make? Whether slavery was a hindrance to industrialization is a complete red herring. The economy of the depended on it when the nation was founded.
As to your ad hominem sign off, the Frank L of ten years ago was getting criticized by the MAS of ten years ago for having voted for McCain because that MAS though Sarah Palin wasn’t fit to be VP as opposed to Joe Biden. At least the theme of stupid attacks hasn’t changed.
Do better cause you are getting lamer and lamer.
You had about four things factually wrong in a three-sentence post, which is impressive in its own way, but should still probably be corrected.
Arguing that the 3/5 Clause called a slave 3/5 of a person is like arguing that because under the Electoral College, the vote of a California voter is 1/28th that of a Wyoming voter, then the Constitution treats Californians as 1/28th of a person. Does that sound intelligent to you? You repeated something that you heard someone who doesn't know what they're talking about say and you will keep arguing it.
Simply Google, "When did Jim Crow end," and you will see 1965.
You also don't understand the "America was built on the backs of slaves" argument, whose whole premise is that America benefitted and prospered off of slavery and we continue to benefit to this day. It's pretty difficult to defend that premise if slavery actually set back the country.
I still make that argument about your 2008 vote, and Joe Biden of 2008 or 2012 no longer exists. Others have said the same, but I frequently have to remind myself that this is the same person in 2021. His cognitive decline has been so dramatic, that he bears no resemblance to that person.
Finally, you misunderstand the meaning of "ad hominem." If I made the case that your points are invalid because you have grown bitter or because your feet stink, that would be a logical fallacy, an ad hominem. Calling you bitter, but not arguing that your points are incorrect do to these characteristics is not an ad hominem.
He stole your soul and your mind. You allowed him to do that.
daily. You in no way resemble your former self. Your ability to project though is impressive.
So now we are supposed to google and accept that Jim Crow ended in 1965 because google says so? That’s how you teach your students to research? This is despite the fact that blacks were still being discriminated against in such small matters as housing? Any idea how stupid that sounds?
Only you would argue that the 3/5ths clause doesn’t show that blacks were thought of as lesser people to the superior whites at that time? As less than full people. Any idea how stupid that sounds?
America was in large part founded on the backs of slaves. That isn’t in doubt. Whether that economy turned out to be counterproductive doesn’t change that fact.
Biden’s cognitive state isn’t the real change. You have changed into a MAGA cultural warrior and that obsessively rules your mind. We are treated to it constantly. Biden hasn’t changed policy wise at all since 08 or 12. You felt that Obama and he were better choices to McCain and Palin in your former iteration when you weren’t a culture warrior. You can’t reconcile that with where you are right now. He has taken over your mind and beliefs.
And finally, your addition of comments about our former prez are clearly ad hominem and irrelevant. That you also make other arguments doesn’t change that analysis.
