being destroyed? This is not just random property crimes. It is the destruction of entire neighborhoods, mostly of low income people. These places don’t come back after they are burned out. Baltimore is still burned out in those places five years after Freddie Grey.
It’s not an either or. The issues raised by the death of Floyd can be addressed without allowing this to continue.
The protests simply provide the landscape and “chaos” for assholes to seize power and control that they otherwise lack in their lives.
Same thing when people commit property damage during a World Series or Super Bowl Championship celebration.
Absolutely senseless. Absolutely without principle or direction. Absolutely not an expression of one’s politics.
These perpetrators are not making a statement. They are just simpleton assholes who convince themselves that the “protests” provide the green light to destroy property, ... not because they have a beef with the property owner, but because the act of destruction gives them an instant sense of “I now have the power!”
So, the first step is to make nice with the protest leaders, and invite them to have organized rallies in a large public space, away from businesses. Let the well intended protesters vent, but keep that process separate and stationary. The city officials have to encourage the protesters that we want them to be heard, and even provide them with a stage with speakers, so they can make it more of a rally.
The more structured the protests, the less “chaos like” of an environment for the assholes to manuuever.
Protect your community and do not let the looting happen. Thank God nothing happen to these people who stopped this store from being raided.

Since you can't completely eliminate the bad apples in police just like you can't in every other professions and bad apples always exist, they will continue this destroying strategy at any price until they win - implementing their kind of justice. With that being said, U.S. criminal justice system does need to some reforms.
mutually exclusive ideas. Public servants need to bring bad cops to justice and bad people need to be corralled quickly & efficiently.
and I don't blame people from being angry about it. All of them should be arrested. Anyone of those other cops could have stopped him from kneeling on Floyd. I've heard past police commissioners say these rioters will get bored in a day or so and go home. I'm not so sure it's going to be that easy this time around. New cities are starting each night.
The National Guard seemed to quiet things down last night and it may take that is other cities. These Hollywood elites should be donating to these family run, burned out businesses and not the rioters. Time will heal but these cops need to do jail time. If they get off, hold on, it's going to be bad.

To move people out to redevelop neighborhoods for the creation of more expensive properties - new Trump plaza’s for expanding cities.
