Are they just going to let him win the race so they aren't told they are oppressing the car? Also, if he is in a wreck, will the other drivers be considered racist for being involved?

A frowning teddy bear, but a teddy bear, nevertheless.

BTW, are you old enough to remember when NASCAR was actual stock cars? There were still some former moonshine runners still racing. I used to watch it, some. back then, it was mostly motorheads who watched. Then it became popular and they started making it like pro wrestling, with feuds and guys double-crossing each other and so forth.

He had a buddy who had a Cobra. This was a long time ago and one of his buddies did not exactly conceal his racism. He also never shut up. I think he was probably already an alcoholic by his late teens, which added to his obnoxiousness and anger and racism. This was Indiana. Hardly an uncommon occurrence in those days, particularly when you consider that a few miles away was Elkhart, a northern hub of the KKK. Anyways, several of them got down to Naptown and in those days, spectators could park inside the oval of the track. They drove Don's Cobra down and when they pulled in, they saw a gold Cobra and Don pulled up beside it and parked, admiring it. After the race, they walked back to Don's Cobra and as they were getting in, a black guy got into the gold Cobra, fired it up and drove away. My father said there was just silence in Don's car. Finally after a minute, Don quietly stammered out, "He was a pretty good colored guy."
After my folks had me, perhaps out of sympathy for Don, my father invited him up for a fishing trip. As always, Don was loud, obnoxious, and never shut up. In addition to talking about himself, he bragged nonstop about his kid, Clint. We were fishing on a lake just over the border in the UP that was the most unbelievable crappie fishing ever. We pulled in hundreds. We were out in the boat one day and Don was yapping away, bragging. All of a sudden, a bald eagle dropped down about fifteen feet from the boat and snatched a fish. This was four decades ago, when they were endangered and rarely seen, even up there. Once again, Don stood there silent for a minute. The only time he shut his mouth the entire time. He didn't know what to say. Twenty years later, Don went sober, got quieter, and less angry and obnoxious. Almost wasn't recognizable.
Over the course of his life he eventually resolved it.
Pretty sure you won't agree with this, but doing psychedelic drugs in a safe setting should be a right of passage into adulthood or at least an option for those who choose. Some cultures have practiced this for thousands of years. Don could have dealt with his internal struggle, the real source of his misdirected anger that manifested as racism, much earlier.

I did help him create a NASCAR fantasy league however.

A bunch of “off the assembly line” souped up cars with decals pasted on them going around in a circle. No one goes to see a winner (no honest person) they go for the crashes and spinouts.
Having said that, I’ve been to my share of NASCAR events and after, wondered why I was there in the first place.
Interesting (in a dull way) are the crowds that follow the teams.
