Since we can’t, since too many people are too stupid to take this tiny step, we are heading toward a second wave in about half the states.

Hurray for us.
The culture war is unhelpful.
Having no national strategy is unhelpful.
Trump’s messaging is unhelpful.
Trump’s suffocation of the formerly renowned CDC is unhelpful.
But red state and blue state alike, we are just an undisciplined careless bunch. I see it daily.
Big difference between being paranoid and being prudent. We need to move forward, but avoid unforced errors re infection rates.

People: what are you going to do with them?
Say, how is that, "Times have never been better" thesis sitting these days? Aren't ya happy, Chris! You sure seem like a jolly soul!
I can’t help it if you are too stupid to understand statistics. No one says everything is great. But compared to any time in history, this century is better.
Much better.
I hate to see you devolve into personal attacks, given that you haven't done this before.
We covered this ground before. Cherry-picking certain categories and ignoring other important ones doesn't make for the strongest case.
And I'm not the only one who has critiqued this thesis on these grounds.

Have those categories compare for indigenous peoples in North America in the 21st century versus, say, the 16th century? What about in Mesoamerica? How about Oceania? Better or worse? What if we focus on nations? Are the Chinese today and were the Chinese in the 20th century better off than Chinese were in say, the 13th century? How does one measure cultural capital statistically?
