When they won the title last time, I was a college sophomore. Still remember in the first half of that season, Arsenal, Chelsea and in-town rival Everton were their biggest threats in title competition. In 2nd half of the season it was Aston Villa that competed them for title. Beardsley and Barnes were my most favorite players on the team then. (I also like defender Steve Nicol very much).
I never thought I would have to wait for 30 years to see them get another title. Later, I had a 180 degree turn. With Man City rising after they became an oil club, I started to doubt that my team may never win league title again in my life time. I did still believe they may get Europe champion title because EU champion league, unlike real season that every team play against each other, essentially is a tournament. There is a luck factor for tournament champion. Yes, they were very close to win title in 2014 and they should have won it. But, to be honest to say, at that time it's all on Suarez. I agreed, without Suarez Liverpool was just a mid-table team then. I was so excited in that season. But the belief to win the title stayed with me only for a few weeks. It wasn't until after Klopp' first year that I truly believe we will win the title soon.
I hope LFC's story can inspire ND fans and ND football team.
