You incorrectly assume that you are smarter than the rest of the public by assuming that their decision is made on rash emotion. They are assessing the long term impacts and balancing that against the supply/demand prices that will follow shortly.
On the other hand, it hasn’t occurred to you that it might be you that is digging in because of the emotional support you feel for the Left cause here. In this case, it could be your delay that was the ill-considered, emotional decision.
