He and Nash somehow made it work with Crosby over the years and Young coming in and out for part of it. I still think their debut album is one of the very best debuts of all time.
They are one of my favorite bands. And that is one of my favorite albums.
Did you watch the documentary on them? It's kind of depressing. They didn't grow up (as musicians) together, and had little loyalty to each other. They all seemed unlikeable in their own way (with the possible exception of Nash). I think they did a great job of putting aside their differences to reappear over the years. They have just such beautiful harmonies, it's just said how much discord there was between them.
