while the reporter is quoting nonstandard "Mortality Cases per Population" head count
The medical community uses the numbers that Trump is quoting for a reason: it tells you what the mortality rate per confirmed case actually is - the question that you want to know.
The data that the reporter is quoting is not used because many of the deaths that have been attributed to COVID have actually not been confirmed. Thus, when you use the deaths per population of a country, you can count ALL deaths attributed to COVID whether they are real or fake - there is no prerequisite to prove that the patient actually ever had COVID. This is a particular issue in this case because the medical community (both Dr's and hospitals) has an option for the nonspecific COVID diagnosis for payment that does not require lab confirmation, but does give them 20% more payment.
The numbers correctly used by the president require an actual lab confirmed diagnosis - and it is the best way that we have to filter through the politics of fake reporting.
Our rate from the chart in the lower part of the link is 3.3%. Pretty good (for instance, Germany is 4.3%), but not the best (Luxembourg is 1.7% but allows no indigents in their country and all tghus have access to health care early on).
Real scientists use Mortality per case and always have. You (DRO) and your MSM sources are not real scientists - your propagandists.
Put your thinking cap on DRO, and don't feel that you have to save face no matter what. Your wrong, and Trump is right - deal with it.

Your stat allows that which is why the medical community long ago switched to using deaths per case as the go to figure. Back then, it was to deal with potential false data from 3rd world nations, but now it is useful against the liberal media.
I don’t think that you’re bright enough to understand the basic statistical point that I made in my OP, but suffice it to say that deaths per capita means nothing when the numbers being counted are not confirmed. In fact, they can be grossly misleading - which is why the MSM is reporting them.
Deaths per Case tells you exactly the question being asked and cuts through the false reporting of unconfirmed deaths.
Total deaths and deaths per capita don't matter? Tell that to the CDC who reports deaths per 100k (see link). Per Trump (and you), they would be reporting it wrong.
It doesn't matter how well we do in mortality per case if we have a shit ton more cases.
While our cases were going up and up, you and every Trump supporter said it didn't matter b/c deaths weren't going up. Now that they are, you are moving the goal posts (again).

he cant handle the truth.
While the death per case does not.
drO is not equipped educationally to understand this. He didn’t know it. Now that I have pointed it out, he doesn’t want to lose face.
Trump was being smarter than he was. Trump was right.

I have a close relative who is freaking out like he is. He only sees the bad news, and he is very worried.
This is a pandemic. We just need to realize what that means. We can freak out about it. Or, we can be cautious, keep calm, and carry on. For some people, that is hard to do.
People will catch it--we can't stop that without becoming a totalitarian state, and there is no reason to do so anyway. So, we can't get upset about the numbers of people who are diagnosed, because they are inevitable...especially if we are putting more money into testing than other nations have done...of course the case numbers will go up.
People will die, of course. We've always known that. We will try to save them. But, as stated at the beginning of all of this, the best we can do is to make sure that everyone gets treated. We have done that. They aren't turning people away because they don't have the resources to treat them. They are sending people home because they aren't sick enough to warrant hospital treatment, which is commonplace for this pandemic.
This all seems like the Iraq War, when every death was a horror of horrors on the news every night...until Obama was elected, and then the deaths, while still sad, of course, were nonetheless not obsessively reported on. It will be the same if Biden wins. The media will stop hyping it, and DRO will feel better.
