To understand the Russia-Ukraine war, one must understand the history of communism – and more specifically, Russian communism.
Young Americans know very little, and frequently nothing, about Josef Stalin – the brutal leader of the USSR who took over after Lenin and took his crimes under communism and really ratcheted them up,
People know nothing of the Holodomor, which was Stalin's planned famine in Ukraine that killed over 10 million people during the time.
At the time of the Holodomor, known as the Great Famine, when Westerners were suffering from the Great Depression in the early 1930s, socialism and communism were very much in vogue, JUST LIKE THEY ARE NOW AMONG OUR EDUCATORS.
It is a terrible chapter in human history of the 20th century, and the vast majority of young Americans truly know nothing about it.
It's past time to take back our schools.
Putin may have made us truly WOKE.
class that included readings of Marx, Hegel and others. They helped me understand the 'context' and objectives those philosophers had...then we discussed where and how their thoughts departed from more reasoned alternative views...that's what universities are for...opening minds and providing the tools for critical thinking through UNDERSTANDING.
Take a deep breath...you need to calm down on this one.
I grew up during the worst part of the cold war and watched Khrushchev pound his shoe at the UN and threaten to bury us.

NEED to be confronted and challenged with such realities...otherwise, they'll never grow to their full potential. That ND class I mentioned was probably like many others throughout the country...it was not an "Indoctrination"...more like a "guided tour", if you will, that helps one understand WHY things are the way the are.
But I agree that today's students need to be confronted with realities.
My point is that they are NOT.
Today's educators have a socialist, anti-traditional agenda (like our media).
This screens out the reality that Communism is horrific while it promotes the theme that our society has been very evil and must be radically "transformed."

and Communist Russian Party? Is there a commonality you speak on to sound like any of it makes sense?
Our kids know nothing about the murderous regimes of Stalin, Mao, Castro, Pot Pol, etc.
But they do know that Capitalism is evil and that all of our wars were unjust.
You're not a psycho.
It is no longer "People did some things"...now it is "things happened." You are kind of making his case for him.
Romney was wrong about the 1980s... Putin is replaying the 1930's.
Ukrainians and their language and culture will be exterminated.
