Every citizen has 2.5 months to request it, with the proper documentation, and then mail it in?
And you need to give them your drivers license number or SS No.
It's the best way to do it, without a doubt, and has huge bipartisan support here.
It's particular useful for difficultly worded ballot measures. When I lived in GA, I would just not vote on several of those b/c I wouldn't be 100% sure (based on the legalese) what I was voting for or against. Now, I can open my ballot, spend an hour at the computer researching the ballot measure and vote accordingly.
Then when my ballot's done, I can drop it off at the polling place any time (drop box is open 24/7). I used to have to take an hour or 2 of unpaid time off to vote. Not anymore.
Btw...a Republican won my US house district every year I've lived here with this process.

It also increases turnout, something that Democrats always support and the the GOP always opposes.
Even if we assume mail-in ballots were susceptible to fraud, why would we think only Democrats would perpetrate that fraud? Why would it be only a way for Democrats to cheat?
In reality Trump just wants the chaos, to be able to accuse his opponents of fraud, based on nothing, all as part of his attempt to de-legitimize his impending defeat.

Very dispiriting that educated Trump supporters are OK with a President sabotaging mail delivery in an effort to suppress votes.
Each state decides the election process for their respective states. If the states set up mail in voting, the least the President and Congress can do amidst a pandemic is to provide additional funding and resources to facilitate these efforts. Here, we have the opposite: Trump deliberately slow playing the mail so that mail in votes are nor counted.
Imagine a Democrat incumbent dictating as Commander-in-Chief that all overseas military personnel will not be permitted to submit absentee ballots, based upon polling reflecting the troops disfavor the incumbent.
Do you think Baron and Ned might have a problem with such a move?
is the dedication of the county election boards and election workers to hold fair elections and count everyone’s vote. I had to gather discovery from 4 of them and their dedication is tremendous.
It makes you feel just a little bit good that the nation isn’t completely in the shitter yet.
They prefer that the mail in votes never even make it to the election officials to be counted.
They are perfectly OK with the President deliberately using his hand picked Postmaster to play "four corner stall" with the mail in ballots, ... so they are never counted by anyone.
That is Trump's intent. He has made that clear, albeit under the pretense of "mail in votes are ripe for fraud."
As you have witnessed first hand, let us tallow the dedicated and selfless election workers count the mail in ballots, and screen for fraud. It is what they do.
I better sign off for a while. It is just so discouraging seeing the lying and whining that goes on today in this country.

You are lying, counting on your readers to be lazy...which I get is a typical Dem strategy straight out of the Gruber Obamacare playbook.

there is however zero rationale as to why someone cannot vote in person. If you can go to the grocery store, go to a restaurant, go to a gas station, go to a peaceful protest, go to a riot... you can go stand in a voting line while social distancing. To state otherwise is just simply not true and you are the one trying to suffocate valid votes with corrupt ones.
Legislature here in a while. The fraud claims are bogus. I have yet to see a county election board here opposed to it.

Because of an inability to implement this in a meaningless primary that probably had a tiny fraction of the participation that November's election will have.
A mail-in general election will be an even worse fiasco. The lawsuits and claims of fraud / voter suppression are going to be a gigantic smokescreen hanging over the results for months. All the usual horseshit you see with keeping polls open late in cities (while the Dems try to roust people to go vote) will be magnified with claims of mail trucks disappearing in North Philly and calls to honor all ballots mailed before December 1, yada yada. This is going to be an exceptionally ugly experience for everyone.
It should be avoided at all costs.
The legislature on a bipartisan basis has implemented mail voting. The fraud arguments are BS. The logistical arguments make more sense. The solution is to make the system work, not to disregard the will of the legislation that enjoys enormous popular support.
Anyone who says it won't be a problem in this highly-contested general election is either a rube or a dupe. Or probably both.
Significant fraud isn’t an issue with vote by mail, even in places with more liberal guidelines than this state.
It what both parties and the people wanted here even before the pandemic

Problem solved.
The people have spoken. This again is bipartisan legislation. Make it work, unless it’s in yiur electoral interest not to.
This is the government you are talking about.
It could though if the resources are properly invested.
Again, the people and BOTH parties wanted it.
Only one person who doesn’t want it to work.
party.
cities and safe injection zones. It's a Liberals paradise and a complete shithole. Why I live in Florida now.

Oh wait, I did go to Wildwood as your Libby butt buddy Conor suggested last night.
To help you, remember we have 67 counties.

state that I wouldn't go back to even to visit my family. I have to go there for work from time to time and I get in and out as quick as I can. Now you can get the last word in with some silly insult to make yourself feel superior.

I don't see where this would be an advantage to either side.
I don't know what the safe guards are of the drop off sites. Are party members driving around collecting/aggregating ballots? That sounds like prime opportunity for fraud.
If a notary is required, are party members providing that service en masse? Sounds like an opportunity for fraud.
Conor is not pushing absentee balloting. He is just pretending to do so. His posts below demonstrate that.
Frank has pretended mail-in is the same as absentee voting, but that is not true. It can be the same only in the sense that you can mail in an absentee ballot. But this is a bait and switch. They want people to think that the safeguards of normal absentee balloting are in place for mail-in voting, but conor's link further below shows that is not the case. They want mass mailings to the voter roles (which are typically incorrect/outdated, and any attempt to update them is called voter suppression by the Dems).
