makes sense, the dems said it was wrong to postpone Garland, so do what you have to do to correct that wrong.
There are a couple of reasons the republicans should absolutely nominate and vote on a new justice as soon as possible:
1. They cant look like they are beholden to the threats of violence from the left if they were to vote - not having a vote would make them look incredibly weak and feckless
2. The possibility of the need for a judicial ruling with the upcoming election and only having 8 justices would be a disaster
3. Ask yourself, what would the dems do? Of course they would push someone through
4. The dems behaved like assholes with Kavanuagh
5. The dems installed the nuclear option under Obama - lets hoist them by their own petard.
#4....That was a MOB in full force spear headed by possibly the next President....I mean Vice President.
It was disgusting.

Nine is a good number.
And nine works much better when the justices’ jurisprudence does not necessarily align with the political party of the President who nominated them.

If he cared about this country, he’d push for the nomination of Merrick Garland.
The profound absurdity of that suggestion should tell us how deeply fucked we are.

His agenda is stacking the federal judiciary with conservative judges. As we have seen, Mitch has done so in scorched earth fashion (only 50 votes for confirmation).
Mitch is mission oriented and has already been very successful. The 11th Circuit panel who just ruled that Florida felons cannot vote until their fines are paid, was composed of almost all Trump appointed judges.
If Mitch can secure 50 votes to replace Justice Ginsburg’s seat by January, it will happen.
I really hope Trump in his usual way will say something so outlandish on her death and the seating of the bench everyone including the GOP Senate
will not be able to get the vote done due to lack of support.

The Constitution requires that the President and the Senate agree on a nominee. They did not when Garland was nominated.
That will likely not be the case when Trump nominates an RGB replacement. That is, it is possible that the President and the Senate will agree on a nominee. But, it may not be the case. We shall see.
Let's not pretend that the Senate is there to rubber stamp whomever the president nominates...especially when Democrats vote partisan far more often than Republicans. Just look at the votes for recent nominees. Dem nominees have often been mostly unanimous, but GOP nominees are more often along party lines. You guys are far more partisan on this kind of thing than the GOP is.
