Me: I can't think of a single one, even if I lived in DC, even if I lived half a block away.
People do it for celebrities, too, and I can't think of a single celebrity I would do that for.
I would do it for someone like Mother Theresa.
I can't imagine anyone would do this, for any politician. Seems silly.
Now, when Jimmy Page or Robert Plant pass away, that's a whole 'nother story.......

narcissism (everything and everyone relates back to me), emotion over reason (I haven't even watched tape of this spectacle, but I assume there are women - and a few men - there bawling?) and celebration of fragility, catastrophism (observe the bedwetters on this board). So, yes, it is weird behavior in an absolute sense, yet totally expected in 2020 American culture.
Would not cause me to lose any sleep.
People tend to forget how times were in different eras. No matter how you feel about your politics RGB was a crusader for equality/rights in all forms!

This isn't a question about RBG. I wouldn't have done it for Scalia. He probably comes closest for me, and I still wouldn't have bought flowers to lay at a shrine for him.
