Led the charge in a Juneteenth rally. Did the same in a BLM rally. Talking at today's presser about encouraging his players to make a change by voting. A very young girl was shot and killed in my area by random gang violence. A rally was held to stop the violence in the young girl's name. No BLM attended. No Lebron. No one from the NBA. What's the change BK and his team are asking for? Do they even know themselves? What's her name BK? Say her name.
protest and when it exceeded 20 minutes, the student IDs were taken away.

blacks.
African Americans have legitimate beefs about their lot in life in this country. This is demonstrably indisputable. Of course, it is equally apparent that the BLM organization and ANTIFA are causing far more damage in African American communities than any imaginary benefit. Channeling discontent in a productive direction is the hallmark of maturity. BK may not have felt like a social activist but as a coach he must relate to his young players.

He does not deserve any criticism for this behavior. To the contrary, he would deserve criticism if he just blew off the issues that are important to his players.

...who stridently decided to take the church to task for it's stand on contraception, abortion and women at an informal gathering in the dorm TV room. I was standing about 5 feet from Father Hesburgh when he dressed the young man down artfully, skillfully and good naturedly with a touch of humor in defense of the church.
I fear there is no longer anybody left there who would or could do that .
(By the way, the "BK" i was describing as "creepy" was Burger King.)
Of course, I was the only Baron at Notre Dame at the time.......
.....seriously that is true about him. What a memory for names! He could have been a heck of a salesman.
one year, alas he didn't have the time that day. What a genuine man he was who exuded warmth even from a distance.

...and came to the Admin Building and were walking around and looking up and walked up the steps since it was closed on a Sunday.
As we started down, who was coming up the stairs but Father Ted. We chatted a bit and told him what we were up to/ He said "Oh, well cone with me" We walked up the stairs and he let us in the building. He said he had a lot of work to do and was heading up to his office but that we were free to walk around inside as long as we wanted. He left the keys in the back of the front door and asked us to make sure it was locked after we went out.
He left us with the keys to the Golden Dome. Different times An amazing man.
(Last saw him two years before his death, I believe. He was in the circle by the Library after celebrating a mass up there for the big shots. Stopped and talked with him a bit. He was frail but still looked good for his age at the time and was still sharp. He was cut from special cloth.)

But I also doubt that he would get involved in partisan politics. Issues were his deal.

penalties.
This is the same sort of rationalization that politicians use when behaving without any principles except their own self-interests.
I haven't seen Mike Brey make a single comment on BLM or The Madness. I'd be fine with these guys just keeping their mouths shut like that. I don't even need a rejection of BLM from them.
Once they let this crap in, it does not exit. You're stuck with it. As it always does, it will drive people apart. You will see more witch hunts of coaches and teammates who aren't sufficiently toeing the line.

It's sufficiently repulsive to prompt millions of people to stop watching. We already know the response if you pressed them to be specific about the changes they wish to see or the evidence for their assertions: word salad, mantras beaten into their heads by wholly unimpressive people, and smears for daring to challenge them.
taking positive steps to help solve some issues, they act shocked, just like interviewing college students about policies.

You have a gift!
The anniversary and wedding cards I wrote led to unprecedented numbers of divorces, my Christmas cards led to untold numbers of suicides, and my get well soon cards led to record numbers of head amputations by their own hands. My boss told me, "Sorry, we have to let you go." I told him that it was alright, and that so long as he kept me in his memory, I will live on forever in his heart, just as I would always keep him in my memory.
Then I asked him what his name was again, so I could use him as a reference.
New England town and who ran into your grade school sweet heart who happens to be an incredibly successful and beautiful person also but has learned to abhor the rat race of the city? And did you then fall in love all over again with this person while planning a Christmas event and learning to value what is most important in life?
(I’m married, so I have been forced to endure quite a few of those movies, and they are always the same).
