- He determined that it was vital for students to come back to campus and boldly announced the decision while most other schools were busy furloughing their cafeteria staffs.
- He developed a brilliant strategy to start the semester early and end it when flu rates typically start to increase. A decision that has proven to be remarkably prescient.
- He didn’t panic when there was an initial rush of cases on campus and among athletic teams.
- He saved the college football season so we could watch the best Notre Dame game in 27 fucking years.
- Sure, he didn’t wear a mask at the White House. But he was there to support a graduate and professor of Notre Dame’s law school as she was sworn in to the SCOTUS. The first non-Ivie justice in God knows how long. He was told that the rapid tests given to all of the participants meant that it was safe not to wear a mask. This was not a completely unreasonable decision on his part.
- Notre Dame students “stormed” the field. It would have been sad if they hadn’t. 95% of them were wearing masks anyway.
This guy is the greatest University leader since Benjamin Franklin.
I have become quite disillusioned with the Catholic hierarchy over the last ten years or so. This includes pastors, Bishops, Cardinals, Catholic universities, Pope, and many priests. They are Lefties first and Catholics second and it has come to the point that you don't know the difference between Catholic hierarchy and the liberal democratic platform. My Bishop wanted special prayers for George Floyd, never mentioning all the babies and young black children murdered through gang violence in Chicago this past summer. Say their names Bishop. A local Catholic Pastor in my area wanted his congregation to pray that DT re-opens the borders, never mentioning that he locks his doors to his residence and to the Church to keep bad people out. Parishioners need an appointment to see this fool. Three weeks ago this same Bishop of mine wanted a self evaluation on our racist tendencies and to pray for forgiveness. The following week he requested special financial contributions from the very good people that he tried to shame the week before. I didn't name names but it won't take much for me to do it. I have zero respect for any Catholic hierarchy until they themselves humble themselves and ask for forgiveness for leading the flock astray. That's right. I said it.
Identity. I think Covid is a side bar issue on this one.

Is the "Sycamore Trust" something that you espouse, or just recognize as being an influence?
number of their points have validity. I do have a couple of alumni friends who are fully on board with Sycamore Trust.
I am not a fan of Jenkins. He should be shepherding the premier Catholic University but all too often strikes me as an Ivy League sycophant.
He is a secular humanist masquerading as a priest.
Swarbrick is an attorney masquerading as an athletic director.
They are two of the most vacuous people I have ever met. Condescendingly creepy.
