Putin’s timetable had little to do with us. And he would not have worried about American interference, no matter who was in charge.
I’d love to hear Trumpies tell me how their Dear Leader would have responded to this crisis. How he could have handled it better.
That’d be amusing.
It makes us look weak as hell to the rest of the world. The word on the street is we don't want to start WWIII. Does that mean Putin isn't afraid if that happens? What's the point of invading the Ukraine if we all get blown away?

I prepare as if every day is the last day regardless of how it happens.
threatens a WW3 using nuclear weapons?
If you can go into a country like he has, destroy cities & send Ukrainians looking to escape at every border then I consider Russia/Putin strong. When I say strong I'm talking military strength.
on the open as you are on the footy.
just as big of a catalyst because it revealed a shocking lack of leadership and ineptitude to go along with the background of suspicion of a weak POTUS.
Chris, you have been so wrong on this all along, and now you spin facts to fit your view rather than acknowledge mistakes - a very common human failing. But you do slowly pivot without openly admitting that you are wrong. Most recently, you slipped in that you thin that we should start drilling. I'll take that as progess. But we conservatives warned of this very scenario, and you laughed it off back then. Now you laugh off your responsibility in creating the problems. Buckle up for this Fall - I suppose you will just rationalize that midterms are always hard on an incumbant party. In truth, this is the worst president in our history.

He would have either rejected pushing Ukraine to NATO or pressured them to declear neutrality. He wouldn't expand something he dislikes. If there were no Ukraine's NATO issue, there would have no this crisis at all. You are just being dishonest by asking how Trump would handle this crisis.

SWIFT status from Russian banks (including the oil banks) back then to prevent this, and save lives? Biden said he always knew that his threatened half-ass sanctions wouldn't stop Putin, but these bigger ones might have. At least why didn't he try to use this threat?
The answer is that Biden is weak and didn't want to do those moves....and Putin knew it, which is a large part of why he invaded.
What is really frustrating is that yesterday you gave Biden credit for these tough sanctions that were brought into play far too late to attempt to avert a crisis.
Invasion of Ukraine months in advance? I'm calling Bullshit on that. If u knew, u should have told Biden, as he was clueless until it happened. Shame on u, or wouldn't he take yr call?
1. He was pushing for US energy independence, and with the pipeline and access to other production, we likely wouldn’t be in the energy pickle we are now and at the very least Ukraine would have been a Western Europe energy issue and not a U.S. issue.
2. Trump was pushing the NATO countries to absorb a greater share of defense cost and stop reliance on the US. This certainly would have advanced his objective there and he’s have stepped up with arms but extracted a high price.
I’d also add that he is unpredictable and that alone would have been a deterrent particularly since he was on defense after the false allegations about Russian collusion and intervention on his behalf in the 2016 elections.
The blame for this lies with Obama/Biden and their weak ass approach to Ukraine and Crimea.
Biden is feckless.
Number one had zero to do with the invasion, and he failed at number two.
And aren’t you guys always telling me that Trump wasn’t going to get us into any foreign wars, unlike the “neocons”? How would that make him unpredictable?
This war was coming in 2022, no matter who won in 2020.

Hardly seems consistent for you to complain about this.
the board with the same question.
Don't be coy. You do this repeatedly. And it's not just my questions. It's your MO.
hence, no more follow ups.
Can't help if you don't like the answers.
However the most recent example is only ONE example. As noted previously, you ALWAYS do this with many many posts. Not just me. You're being disingenuous.

Dodges direct questions more than Jim. Well, maybe Q412 but they may be sharing the same small brain.
You’re all notorious avoiders and evaders of direct questions.
you support sexual predators so I see why you would use his style. Trump broke you in a way that isn't fixable and you continue to show that daily. I would love to see you go a few days and never make reference to Trump. I'm not sure you have that ability.
Tampa = dishonest.

I am not and have not been defender of Trump.
Biden, however, should NEVER have been the alternative.

constant and unequivocal support for Putin's version of any issue...he was/is owned by Vladimir Putin...it must have been a challenge of the highest order for our intelligence community to brief that guy, knowing where his 'allegiance' was.
Indeed...thank God he's out of the Oval Office...and thank God his political stock has fallen...over 70% of Americans don't want to see him as a candidate in 2024, and there's nothing he's saying or doing that's going to turn it around.

If Trump were still president, he would have pressured Ukraine to declear neutrality. They would have still been enjoying peace now. It's not a secret that Trump detests corrupted Ukraine, detest those bandwagon countries that pay little to NATO. He certainly wouldn't support Ukraine to fight Russia. Trump also understands the danger of trigging a nuclear war.
