If Trump didn't kick off his campaign calling the press the enemy of the people and finding ways to denigrate them do you think the relationship would have been more as past presidents? If not, Why?
I see right wing media foaming at the mouth because the press doesn't "attack" Biden.
Not.
It's all about them being hard core liberals who have to spout the liberal line and act in all ways favorable to the Left if they want to keep their jobs (though by now, most of them sincerely believe this crap because of hiring bias, and university journalism school bias).

The press and the government are natural enemies. Republicans bitch constantly about it...but the press is hard on all presidents.
That's the way we want it.

I remember when it was pre-determined that Hillary was to get Moynihan's seat and she strolled into NY and immediately went on a "listening tour".
In other words she waltzed around the State to carpet bag a seat that was selected for her and waived off questions from the press and others because she was "listening" to the people...and the press accepted that BS from her.
Yeah, they sure held her feet to the fire...

Including back in her Pretty in Pink days as First Lady. Oh, Shazam! Here are those lost records! On the shelf in the library!
I also enjoyed her first senatorial campaign, where her opponent handed her a paper or something during the debate and she played the victim, like he was physically intimidating her and the press idiots were more than happy to play along with it.
If people recall, legitimate Clinton scandals in the 90s were routinely downplayed and treated as part of the, well, "Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy." Lying under oath, firing the Travel Office staff to put their hillbilly friends into those positions, the McDougal real estate boodle, and so on. And then, to top it off, they treated the Secret Service and WH staff like garbage. Delightful people.
If you don't see the monstrous differences today you should switch careers.
in the oval office? And the next time Joe is pressured about anything, it will be the first time that happened. The press handled this guy with white gloves his whole campaign. You really expect it to be any different if he gets to the WH? What are you smoking because I want some of it?
They perform an important role in a democracy.
They are the "enemy of the people" only in the eyes of dictators.
you say it is, maybe they should have pushed some hard questions at Joe instead of treating like a child.

Let’s weigh the two presidencies impeachment’s snd the media frenzy that went along with them.
-
- Impeached for BJ
-
- Impeached for employing a foreign power through the use of Quid Pro Quo to invent negative information on a political opponent.
And being impeached means absolutely nothing. He wasn't removed and is still your President.

But I won't be boohooing like Trump supporters if they do. Trump wanted a war with the press because he craved good press and they didn't fawn over him.
