Once again I will ask... why haven't we focused on the vulnerable to this day?
All vaccines should have been given to those most susceptible first!
Why did our governors fail to set this up months ago?
Instead, we are ruining the future for our youth.

Something does not add up. I'm open to an explanation.

And who would enforce... the LAPD? I would love to see them going into Watts and East LA and trying to stop gatherings and force people to wear masks.

persons 75 years and older in their Phase 1b category, along with HC workers, for distribution of the vaccines, so focus is being given to those most vulnerable. With regard to nursing home residents, while initially 'victimized' due to the "novelty" and lack of understanding regarding COVID-19, improvements have been, and continue to be, made in the their protection, so there is no lack of focus here.
But nursing home residents represent only 4.5% of the 65 year old and older population (see link)...the rest (including 2% in ALFs) are an active part of the community...they go to the same stores, restaurants, sporting events, etc. as everyone else...so how do you propose to protect them? Unless you are suggesting they be forcibly sequestered, the whole community needs to make sure that the virus doesn't spread...wash hands, keep social distances, wear masks, avoid dense social gatherings (especially in enclosed locations).
What has always been needed, but not aggressively focused on thus far is a nationwide program of testing and contact tracing...together with rapid distribution of the vaccines, those measures will allow us to truly open up schools and many other activities...to the point that it will feel 'almost normal'. If you are to rail against anything, it's that lack of understanding and leadership from those who have the responsibility to protect not just the most vulnerable, but all people.
BTW...not sure why you bring up Sweden...last I heard, they're not too happy with their initial strategy.

.Jus told now that they will be pushed back to mid-March.

...comedians.
But if you compare California to Sweden, it's starting to look like CoVid restrictions only delay the inevitable while inflicting economic hardship.
