ACB would have and should have received more votes. But, the timing of her nomination and GOP's rush to seat her was justifiably a big problem for the Democrats, who have been at war with McConnell over Supreme Court seats, particularly since Garland's seat was stolen.
Presidents should be given deference re their nominations to the bench. The Senate should vet the nominee's command of the law, background, impartiality, etc. But, it has turned into a circus of partisanship. Not healthy for the Court's authority.
