This really isn't a right-left issue. It's about corrupt politicians who's only interest is to bring home the bacon.
When troubles arise, politicians take the pulse of the electorate, and they act. Whether their actions actually have any impact is immaterial. They puff their chests and hold press conferences and gleefully announce that they fleeced taxpayers yet again in providing money to address (insert latest crisis here).
My small town received over $3M in such pork funds, and spent less than 25% of that for covid-related PPE equipment. When pressed on plans for the remainder of the money, they stonewalled and implied that it was none of our business. It's a big battle right now.
States and municipalities are flush with cash right now, as a result of all the pork that's been spread around under the context of COVID relief. It is truly disgusting.
$1billion is still a lot of money and $1 trillion is at least like 10 times that amount.
