Posted here because he is the hero to so many.

Trump will have to stroke out for him to win, though.

DeSantis is an inbred moron like most from Florida.

Trump - about 1.5 to 1...Bet a dollar, you win $1.50
Desantis - about 3.75 to 1...Bet a dollar, you win $3.75

Trump's odds have dropped a bit over the past few months. DeSantis is seen as the only viable alternative at the moment (next is Nikki Haley at like 10/1)

On the Dem side. Biden and Kamala running pretty close.

Joe at about same odds as DeSantis...about 3.6 to 1
Kamala at 4 to 1

...first term as President and that this experiment should never happen again.

There may be the odd outlier who could handle it at this age (Joe is clearly not one), however it is far, far too risky the way a person can deteriorate rapidly at this age to ever do something like this again. I think 70 should be the absolute cap age for a first term president...and that is actually probably pushing it.

No. The worst nightmare for the Dems is, DeSantis for POTUS, Trump for House Speaker.

The house speaker doesn't have to be selected from the incumber of congress. If that happens, unlikely though, you will see many liberals leaving this country. This time their leaving is real.

Thread Level: 4

That makes me laugh. If that isn't promised to Trump, he and Desantis will destroy each other.

He's a garrulous trump wannabe with an ivy league education. A bit of a magpie when it comes to policies. No real thought behind them, just borrows trumps

I think the personality got lots of people off the couch and to the polls. Not clear that DeSantis could inspire the same kind of loyalty and turnout. Trumpism was never just about policies, after all - it was about attitude and personality.

We will see.

But he would be a welcome, normal candidate. Not a a threat to the republic.

In fact there has only been one threat to our system in office. Dubya never was. None of the GOP nominees would have been. Or any from the Democrats.

Just Trump.

I will be rooting for DeSantis, The GOP needs him. I will disagree with him, surely, but he seems like a normal politician, one who would be fit for office.
