Twitter and Disney are NOT public sector/government companies. They self govern themselves and can make whatever rules and take whatever position they want. With that being the case I'm confused why Republicans want Twitter to abandon censorship (stop saying 1st amendment), but cheer DeSantis in striping Disney of their self governance.
What say you?
Or, perhaps you think that government corporate subsidies should be handed out without regard to a company being judged to have a position contrary to societal interests? If that is your position, please let me know.
,while public, also has a special status that essentially makes it a municipality of sorts (county of the state for lack of a better term) and therefore is different. Technically, Orange County will gain some tax revenue I imagine but may also incur some additional expense in roadway maintenance, etc... Regardless, companies have consequences for decisions they make and this is a prime example. Are you just as critical of the lefties that cried foul with Musk trying to buy twitter to remove the ridiculous censorship they put in place that cannot, nor ever will be, able to be justified based on who/what they leave on the platform?
and try to FORCE people to comply with their views.
They also change those rules with the barest of slim margins to do so or during emergencies, and then act like the vast majority of people agree and thus there should be no debate.

Walt Disney World exists in its own special taxing and governance district like a county government.
The Reedy Creek Improvement District landowners, primarily Walt Disney World, pay for their own municipal services.
The charter even allowed the District to build its own nuclear power plant if it wanted.
So what? It's worked great for everyone.

to consider.
They can't push and then whine when the push comes back at them.
supposed to prevent. You can spin until you puke and still be wrong on this one. DeSantis has that same emotional weak gene Trump suffers from. Not very statesman of him.
can consider the cost of having a pervert of a CEO who wants to use the company to corrupt children with her perversion as well as actively oppose benign legislation which doesn't allow teachers to go behind their parent's back.
The legislation - if you were ever to actually read it - is not at all unreasonable to anyone.
PS - I thought you said no teacher's were teaching this stuff. if not, then why are you so upset (and why did D gov Murphy just institute such a taching initiative in New Jersey?)
Guess it is hard to do, and CEO's know it, so they can play their personal games.

And can largely do what it wants subject to the oversight of its shareholders.
No longer the same thing despite starting off as such.
