Catholic churches are becoming less and less full on Sunday's and less of a center of community then they have been throughout our short history. And yet,
the politics of church has become more and more potent. Are our churches becoming a pawn in another's game of power or are our churches becoming more
powerful in their decline?
An intelligent take on what is happening. I'm not sure it answers my question, but it sure proves this board.
at least you are acknowledging what catholic teaching on the issue of abortion really is unlike many of your liberal colleagues.

It is a legal opinion with a religious foundation.
There is nothing necessarily wrong with that…but jeez, let’s not kid ourselves.

You're willing to shout out names but you're not able to answer the question.
…….that asAmerica becomes more secular, religious politics have more and more influence.
I disagree with that statement, and thus it is not possible to answer why it is so, since it is not so.
Perhaps you could rephrase the question.
challenged on their religious faith in order to be considered. Even the number of times you go to church
each week being a consideration and the need to follow a religious confection at all times (when people are looking).
What do you think this parade accomplished or tried to accomplish with this?
2 of the 5 Catholics are reported (sadly) to have voted to uphold Roe v Wade - Soto and Roberts
2 of the 4 non Catholics are reported to have voted to repeal Roe - Thomas and Gorsuch.
Further, the POTUS Biden and Speaker Pelosi claim that they are Catholic, yet you don’t implicate them.
I see no pattern here other than your prejudice against Catholics, and even then it is clearly unwarranted.
Gorsuch says he's Anglican/Catholic - I don't know what that entails but if he said it, it must be how he sees himself.
That's 7 of 9 on the court, 6 of whom are R nominated and confirmed.
5 of whom lied when asked would faith guide them in a Roe v Wade case and if it was settled law something they all
agreed it is and was settled law with precedent. Do we really need to bring up their testimonies for you to see
they all lied. Mind you, they lied to get on the court - these are justices who value a lie above truth, something
abhorrent in the faith they are said to follow, and they lied as judges entering the highest bench in the land.

Is it ok to kill a baby the day after it is born? No, that’s barbaric. Murder
Hmmmm
Is it ok to kill a baby the day it is being born? No, that’s barbaric. Murder
Hmmmm
Is it ok to kill a baby the day before it is born…say 8 months and 30 days? No, that’s barbaric. Murder

or engaged in citizenship - all just a ball of emotion and falsehoods.
Never mind. I can just Google "Democrat talking points on abortion". No chance you'd ever have an independent thought.
however do google D talking points and read them. Not all are something I agree with. I did post a clip in the initial post after asking my question, something you and your pals have not answered or talked about. The clip is thought provoking but you had no interest. Maybe you could start there instead of the sad attempt at being smug. Being incurious is no way to go through life.

question is with the decline in religions (Catholic) how is it that it has more reach in our gov't. Our local gov't's and the lay of the land.
The questioning of a candidate's faith associations is of such great importance when interviewing them and not on their abilities -
Judge Jackson in particular, the comments on this board about not
being Catholic enough or in name only, the cafeteria kind. The constant barrage of pejoratives associated with not being enough of a Christian and so on.
It's in our politics and with great importance all the time.
But you're willing to knee jerk a post - way to go Piggles, moron.
So post again how my argument is excellent, a....
PS: there are 7 of 9 including Gorsuch who are Catholic on the Supreme court today. Kavanaugh, Alito, Barrett, Thomas, Roberts, and Sotomayer. Only one is
considered a left leaning. So no, of course not, the courts right leaning justices have no religion at all and were not placed there knowing the faith they follow.
A one issue court.

I have no problem with the edit...the need for them happen all of the time for many reasons. But don't change it and then pretend that my answer makes no sense when you now have changed the original.
To answer your new version...
Religion is not having greater impact on the rule of our country. Roe is being evaluated because of its' violation of the Constitution.
Religion is not fading either (having non believing people move away is tragic, but it also has the effect of strengthening the Church).
It is certainly possible that with the massive immigration from central America, that you WILL see a bigger and bigger catholic influence on our American politics. That is what you wanted, right?
before I had a chance to respond to it...and more than just once...a total lack of accountability...talk about the epitome of hypocrisy...day in and day out.
