same reasons why the majority of Catholics hold the same opinion...here's an excerpt...
---------------------
"Things that cause abortions: lack of comprehensive sex education, inaccessible health care, violence against women, religious shame and exclusion, familial rejection or coercion, and workplace inequalities including but not limited to barriers for advancement, disparities in pay and lack of paid parental leave or child care.
Making abortion illegal before addressing these injustices is going to kill women, because women will continue to have abortions, secretively and unsafely.
For the first time that I can recall in my years of being anti-abortion, tales of the pre-Roe world from women who lived it are being shared on a massive scale. (Many are circulating this New York Times article from January and sharing their own stories in the captions.) Social media is a flurry of back-alley horrors."
----------------------
I'd also add 'lack of access to...and use of...contraceptives, for causing the Unwanted Pregnancies that too often become abortions.

Thank God for Joe Biden and the Democrats.
Personally, I would stop killing kids first, and then deal with workplace inequality. But, I guess other people have different priorities.
even try to understand "WHY" they happen...it's like constantly trying to put Bandaids on a wound that won't go away...you have no clue as to why that wound is there...and the really sad part is that you have no interest in finding out...
Hopefully you'll read the attached article, but for those who do want to understand the answer to this crucial question, note that the very large majority of women who opt for abortion (legally or illegally) do so because they are poor (among many other reasons)...and because they never wanted those kids in the first place...
To underscore the problem for poor women, recent estimates show that it takes an average of $272,049 to raise a child to the age of 18...(see link below)

I'll be back to add more to your "Fund of Knowledge".

I shouldn't even admit that I read that far.
You really do not know how to discuss an issue with someone who disagrees with you.
the ending of a human being's development and birth...right?...everybody gets that...but not everybody thinks that's the end of the discussion...in fact 80-85% of the American public...including a similar percentage of Catholics...believe that as tragic as the act of abortion is, it needs to be legalized...WHY that is, is something you close your mind to...to this day, you have refused to accept this fact...
I, and ALL Americans "Stipulate" that Abortion ceases a new life...WHY would the overwhelming majority still want abortion to be legal...that's the critical discussion you are avoiding...not me.
And never forget...I, and ALL Americans want to see the Abortion rate SHARPLY DECLINE...NOT INCREASE OR STAY THE SAME....with that in mind, let's discuss the "HOW AND WHY" of it all.
P.S. Read the whole article...don't be afraid to ponder why you are in a small minority on this issue.

understand what an "Unwanted Pregnancy" entails for the women who have to deal with that circumstance...come back to me when you're ready to learn...you can get a head-start by reading the article I posted.

When you use the word "majority," I question whether that covers all who respond to surveys and what are the numbers if the segments are delineated notwithstanding, that some are for none and others for partial birth.
Just to be clear, as a practicing Catholic I am for none until there is a second coming and I am instructed otherwise.
comment "I am for none..", I'm hoping that you're not being literal and expecting ZERO abortions in a world where violent rapes and incest exist...are you?
Going back to the graph...that's 47 years of data showing that only 15-20% of Americans want abortion to be illegal in ALL cases...therefore 80-85% of Americans see the need for legalization of the practice for at least SOME cases...and since women in Alabama are the same as those in California, such a legal service should be available in every state.
To dramatically reduce the number of abortions we all need to push hard for better sex education and the availability everywhere of affordable Contraceptives...how do you feel about that?
