Institutional science is NOT some objective reasonable force outside of politics. Their scientists spend most of their careers chasing government grant funding, and fighting for appointments and promotions in government-funded university systems. Institutional science always follows politics. Nobody knows this as much as the disingenuous politicians who claim that their policies are based on scientific findings which is totally BS.
For some people, trust is granted until faith in that trust is destroyed (covid agenda).
For others, trust must be earned.
And then, there is "liberal policies" designated as science, which just causes division all together and lost of trust for everyone unless they believe in the liberal policies.

Before COVID-19 hit us, I'd venture to say that the large majority of board members, and GOP
leaders, had zero complaints with our CDC, FDA, or the WHO...thanks to their demonstrated expertise in dealing with all kinds of viruses...from Smallpox and Polio to Ebola....the same organizations...programs...policies...and people...what changed?

Previously they had no impact on our daily lives. Then they suddenly had a gigantic impact on our lives. And much of what they said turned out to either be an intentional lie (Fauci mask fliperoo, Lab Leak coverups, squashing Great Barrington without utilizing actual science, etc etc etc), or what they said was clearly driven by politics (Masking toddlers, masking kids in schools LONG after it was clear that there was NO scientific basis, endorsing lockdown madness in blue states, rent holidays, student loan holidays).
The CDC, NIH, and WHO made some gigantic, egregious errors and the entire house should be cleaned.

Great Barrington was about protecting the people most at risk and was not anti-vax (no idea where you came up with that howler) Fauci and Collins tried their best to squelch it and destroy the reputations of the highly competent people who wrote it. We would have been MUCH better off if we had followed their recommendations.
Masking toddlers is ridiculous (absolutely useless), and masking schoolchildren did absolutely no good (and much harm, socially). There is not A SINGLE STUDY that proves masking schoolchildren was efficacious.
Lockdowns were useless and socially devastating. Millions of people had their livelihoods wrecked because the Democrat Telecommuting Class was frightened.
