1.4 %. It’s now at $4.59 a gallon and 8.3 % inflation.
...then justify your contention with some factual analysis.
Cause the prices started climbing a long time ago long before the invasion
He’s really coming through. I know it’s Trump’s fault, Putin’s fault, virus and climate change.
Some convincing, fact-filled analysts would also be nice.

going on in the world?
So for at least 10 years now, progressives like you, the green movement, Greta, university endowments, mutual funds, private equity and banks have lectured that we are destroying the planet.
So exploration and oil companies have got the message. They can’t raise capital because they are evil.
So if you run an oil company, production company, a fracking company what would you do with capital in a timely basis or with an uncertain future.
Do you have any idea how many oil companies have closed or put refineries up for sale. Why?
On top of that we have a President elected who supports the green movement. Stops pipeline development. His EPA and DOE officials makes it nearly impossible to get industry production get to markets efficiently to cover your return on capital risks.
So why bother? I would put my capital to increase profit on overseas investments.
So we get a war and your President begs Russia, OPEC, and Venezuela to produce more. Does that not bother you?
What don’t you get about our weakness. It’s like having to fly baby formula from other countries.
Why don’t you want America to control its energy destiny.
I’m happy the oil companies are making billions. Who caused that? I’ve told you the details are in the transition. Get in you EV and make your self feel better.
If you send me some link I won’t read it or respond.
I’m making a lot of money because of people like you. But I’m not happy because it didn’t have to come to this.
Stupidly is ample in this country.

>The "Green Movement"...or, more commonly, "Climate Change" is a phenomenon that is accepted as real the world over...not just in the U.S...You haven't read what I've provided on this...nor have you apparently done any research yourself, so I'll not burden you with any more facts or logic.
>You are correct, O&G companies are not developing new fields and they are looking at new investment opportunities that don't involve making Hydrocarbon based fuels...but just stop there for a moment...given the enormous amount of money invested in the energy sector and its importance to every nation, don't you think the industry would find a way to continue doing the "Same 'ole...Same 'ole" thing if there wasn't a good reason?...surely, they could find a way to convince the world's politicians to back off from their silly, unsupported contention that 'Climate Change', or possibly "Peak Oil" was a serious looming problem...yet, that's obviously not been the case...this is not a situation where some leftist politicians are simply calling the FF industry "Evil"...and that industry "gets it"...
>Given that IMO everyone that matters "Gets It" for the long run, the current price hike is due to Putin messing with a delicate "Transition Period" for the industry...on top of the COVID ups and downs that affected short term planning and supplies.
>For a predictable...and safe...world order, we need to squeeze Putin by the neck (i.e. choke off his oil revenues) until he's gone from power...that means getting help from other countries that have much more oil and gas than we, Japan, or the EU have...it's not stupidity...just painful.
