WE doing?"...while we can and should send forth our prayers to the grieving families, it is not enough...we MUST take action ourselves, and I'll suggest that each of us send an email or phone message to all our state and federal Representative and Senators DEMANDING that they join with all of their colleagues to draft and then pass legislation that endeavors to reduce the level of mass shootings in the U.S. to a level below that of any other country on this planet...with an abiding goal of eliminating such tragedies altogether...and if their names are not found on such legislation, then other leaders will be sought out who will commit to this objective.
Our family moved to within 20 minutes of Sandy Hook when my siblings and I were in Elementary School...so, this all hits home to me just a bit more. Hearing Senator Murphy describe what "life' is like for kids in Sandy Hook now drives home the ongoing damage that permeates that community and others nearby...we all need to do what we can to fight for today's and all future kids and their families.

Bullets kill people.
We ought to go after the ammunition.
No other policy change will help stop the next massacre. The country is already awash in guns.
If we really wanted to reduce the violence, we would ban the sale and manufacture of many kinds of ammunition.
Using the media's logic in this. A person did not run over parade goers, it was an SUV that was the culprit.
I'm not sure banning the sale would work, but adding a 500% tax on those sales might help.
A 500% tax would do absolutely nothing to stop mass shootings.
