At the elementary school where my daughter-in-law teaches, the doors are always locked. Visitors must ring a bell. If they have legitimate business they are let in by the principal and escorted by a member of the staff. I expect that would prevent some of the shootings.
If you think a locked door will stop an assault rifle you are as stupid as your question.
You get buzzed in the exterior door after stating your business and showing ID on CCT. Then you are let in an enclosed area, still locked out by a second set of doors. No access to the school yet. You talk to the office through glass. At that time you sign in, show ID, and given a pass to enter the school. Also, most schools in my area do have active shooter drills along with fire and tornado drills. It's not perfect but it's really good. Some high schools have metal detectors and all have resource officers.
get in as easily as he did. Did he target this school or was it freak accident? Will we ever know?

Jackass just walk in an open door. Its not gonna happen where I live. Everybody has to be let in, no exceptions
But my kids school operates the same. Locked doors. No one in or out without checking in first.
No school should be left vulnerable because they don't have the budget. And yes, that includes private, charter, and pre-schools. Kids are kids are kids. They all depend on us adults to take care of them. The money we used in the Afghan withdrawal and aid for Ukraine is a great start for this project. Just have to make sure that no one will be lining their pockets with this money.
to enter. Obviously, it wasnt, something was amiss. Somebody missed something, when killer jumps from crashed car and runs into building. There was no pre planning on this situation, sounds random
