depend on..."A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Equally surprising, those that could get the "..right to bear arms..." part were oblivious to the "...well regulated Militia..." lead in.
A conservative buddy of mine had a great suggestion...have each state create a "Militia" and all those who want to "bear arms" must join that "Militia"...must register and submit to a background check by the Militia...AND...keep their guns in the Militia's Armory...just i case the "free State" comes under attack.
Problem solved!
Not because its inclusion would make a mockery of your “plan”.
here or there?
Govt. you know, the one Beto wants to allow to go door to door to gather guns.

Keep proposing random shit that makes no historical or constitutional sense. See how that works for you.
By the way, the government doesn't have rights. The people have rights. The government only has powers. Governmental powers are limited by the Bill of Rights, not protected by the Bill of Rights.
The right of the people to keep an bear arms shall not be infringed. Your plan infringes on the rights of the people.
You know, if you don't like our Constitution, you have several choices: (1) You can pass an Article V Amendment, (2) you can call a Constitutional Convention, or (3) you can move to Canada or another country. I would recommend one of those legitimate options, rather than just using your political power to undermine the Constitution by "interpreting" it into nothingness. In the long haul, your efforts will weaken the Constitution and therefore the nation, and result in inevitable chaos, with the attendant harms that come with chaos.
to bear arms, what's stopping you?...I call it our elected Representatives who create laws within the framework of what's called "Government"...all Constitutional. That same process can be applied to "Assault Rifles"...High Capacity Magazines and certain types of ammunition.
As for my friend's proposal, what in the Constitution would keep such rules from happening?
Once again, I have to ask...are you an attorney?...if not, do you mind saying what your profession is?
And finally, you too forgot the "Well Regulated" part of the 2nd Amendment...just like those clueless interviewees...your credibility is tanking at an alarming rate.
I didn't think you needed reminding of the other part. I'm fine with the entire amendment as drafted. I do note that you left out the "keep" part, as in the right of the people to keep their arms should not be infringed. That is the part you needed reminding about.
"In the Gun Free School Zones Act of 1990, Congress made it a federal offense "for any individual knowingly to possess a firearm at a place that the individual knows, or has reasonable cause to believe, is a school zone." The Act neither regulates a commercial activity nor contains a requirement that the possession be connected in any way to interstate commerce. We hold that the Act exceeds the authority of Congress "[t]o regulate Commerce . . . among the several States . . . ." U. S. Const., Art. I, §8, cl. 3."
That was Rhenquist, overturning a gun regulation that Congress had no right to impose. What enumerated power clause in the Constitution would you hang your hat on for your proposal?

"Admittedly, this is unrealistic and sarcastic, but let's act like adults and sacrifice just a little to do the what's necessary to dramatically reduce the horrors being wreaked on families and even little kids...support rigid background checks..."Red Flag" programs...ownership age increases...much longer waiting times...and the banning of any weapons designed for use in the killing of large numbers of people in a short time...to name a few."
Sorry you missed the "Babylon Bee" quality of my friend's suggested 'solution'...let's just do what we can, as soon as we can, to turn this sorry situation around.
Oh, you did forget to answer my question...are you an attorney, and if not, would you care to mention your profession?
And you wonder if any of those interviewed can read? Reading your comments is almost as good as hearing Sheila Lee Jackson trying to explain what a gun is.
Amendment and the most referred to reason for owning a gun gets met...all other reasons are purely for pleasure and IMO "Granted" by the state...note that the 2nd Amendment says nothing about protection against "Home Invasions" either as a reason to "bear arms".
In point of fact, we already have state "Militias"...i.e. our state National Guard units (see link)...so if someone really wants to shoot some exciting ammunition and see stuff explode, they can join the National Guard.

(Note: I believe I've shown conclusively that combat veterans would have no problem engaging their enemies with AR-15s, or the like...their magazines and the ammunition within...they are truly effective weapons of war...if you don't agree, I'll walk you through it again)

for dumbshit statements supplied to them by FOX TV and other far right-wing media social clubs.
Seems like a decent idea - All that carnage once the inner fighting begins on who should lead such militias. Probably end up
taking out a third of the citizens who will want to join up.

You've obviously had too much stupid to drink today.

Apparently, everyone on here is unable to. But you couldn't resist posting something completely inane.
Just answer anyone of the questions asked is all I'm asking.
