fully control Washington DC? If yes, explain.
I'm sure most of us took Civics in HS and it takes 60 votes to pass non budgetary bills unless they go nuclear. This misnomer of one party control is the greatest cog in American politics and should be reason #1 we vote people in that work with each other.
Not that facts bother you. They didn't exercise the nuclear option because they couldn't get Manchin and Sinnema to betray their country.
Are you asking to rule with less than even a majority Q4twelveyrolds?
...they suck so badly.Other admins have learned to give and take with compromise. They don't have to give much with the majorities that they have either...but they just can't do it...even within their own party. They could have compromised with Manchin, but they didn't.
The obsessional emphasis in politics today is on constant fundraising/campaigning. This is driven by an anxiety about losing office and all the attendant “perks.” Bipartisan legislation is almost a negative for most politicians, who do not dare to appear cooperating with members of the opposition party.
It’s like posting on this board. Very few will suggest compromising on the big issues.
