Are the baseball players on schollie. A few? All? Most? Is the HC sponsored like Marcus's position is? Same with hockey? Are they all on scholarship?

Scholarship this year. The team gets 7.2 scholarships each year. That has to be split amongst 23-24 kids. Some have more than other depending on what the coach has/had available. She walked on last year and found out 5-6 other kids were considered walk-ons. I’m sure D1 mens sports have more money available but I’m sure there are walk ons.

It doesn’t cost nearly as much to pay in state tuition so that 11.7 scholarships can be split in half and most of the team is paying virtually nothing. In the case of Florida and Georgia if they have decent grades then tuition I waived anyway.

Big advantage over a school like ND with what it costs.

Up a good amount of academic money. We were thrilled to see her pick up some money this year. NAIA has 10 scholarships to distribute but it turned out to be not the fit she wanted.

…..back in the day, my older brother walked on to the ND baseball team. He was All State in MI for 2 years in a row.
He made the team, but he never got a whiff at the field, and he dropped it as school started to crank up since it was having a bad effect on his grades.

Ok. Thanks. All these years and I still wasn't sure.
