On a road trip, it would be about $30 to supercharge for 300 miles of range.
That’s $0.10/mile
On a road trip right now and averaging $0.15/mile despite the gas being anywhere from $4.49/gal to $5.19. So if gas were pre-Biden my gas powered Acura TLX would be doing much better than your Tesla.
Our 2015 Acura with close to 300 hp gets 31-32 mpg hence the $0.15/mile rate.
So tell me again what the attraction is?
Please provide better answer than the GM CEO did.
How much did you pay for the Tesla? What's your monthly payment assuming you financed? On average EV's cost 25k more than gas engines. So keep that car for 300,000 miles and you'll start to save some money. Of course thats assuming electric rates dont go up (they will)
It replaced a Toyota Camry. If I’d bought a Camry instead, it would have been $34K.
At the 32,000 miles now, I’ve more than recouped the incremental cost on fuel and maintenance.
If I assume a Camry gets around 25miles per gallon it’s cast somewhere around 18 cents to drive a mile. Last I ready teslas are coating around 4 cents a mile. Admittedly that number may be off a little. I don’t think you are anywhere close to making your 10k back
Going to get worse.
