From the link:
* They approved a measure that stated that President Joe Biden "was not legitimately elected."
* They rebuked the 10 Senate Republicans involved in the bipartisan talks on gun legislation -- including Texas Sen. John Cornyn, who was booed during his speech Friday at the convention.
* They voted to advance language in the party platform that describes homosexuality as "an abnormal lifestyle choice" and calls on students "to learn about the humanity of the preborn child."
* They harassed Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw, calling him "eye patch McCain." (Crenshaw lost an eye during military service in Afghanistan.)
Taken together, the message was simple: This is Donald Trump's party. Period. End of sentence.

only 10-15% believe abortion should be illegal in ALL cases...the majority of Americans believe stronger gun control laws are necessary.
While some red states, like Texas, get more extreme, the majority of the country stays centered...this will all play out in the next couple of election cycles...
btw, there are signs that top GOP support for Trump is waning (see link)...certainly, folks like Mitch McConnell and some major donors want to move on...and away...from DJT.

Might need to get your stories together.
I think DeSantis wins going away if he runs against Biden. Guys a disaster.
I believe the Republican 'powers that be' see him as an albatross that can't be defended...or trusted...plus a recent poll showed 71% of Americans didn't want him on the ballot in 2024.
The GOP has a challenge in trying to get a ton of voters to 'move on'...not easy, given the lack of discernment ability in them.
Sad
But then they'll look at the crazy rhetoric and awful results (more important than rhetoric) of the current admin.
