The party of complainers just love complaining. There is a reason why Republicans can only refer to the federal land moratorium and Keystone as the reason for high prices.
Just remember that drilling permitting in Biden's first year bested Trump by 34%.
What company wants to invest money and years into something that the current administration is trying to eliminate? Why should the oil industry want to reduce profits right now if the future is uncertain?

What ever is happening in around 3 months?
creative visions about what is going on in the world around you...
What Chris is telling you is the truth...the real truth and nothing but the truth...but then, that's not something you, and sadly, many others care about.

It’s the summer driving season. A permanent “holiday” would mean no money for infrastructure.
And surely you are not suggesting that any politician would be happy seeing gas prices rise again in October of an election year.
Think.
drive up the cost of electric cars requiring further subsidies.
Driving cost easement for travelers……”Winter is coming”.
People will need the savings to cover the horrid heating bills to come. You could argue that the tax cut would be more beneficial then. Unless you have other equivalent tax cuts planned, I don’t think it makes sense to argue that this tax cut is being done during the time of higher need.
No, the roughly 3 month time frame is specifically chosen for the election. It will in this way, and we both know it.
BidenHandlers motives are political- short term concession for longer term goals by retaining majority- but it isn’t going to work.
Still, I like the policy if it is made permanent, regardless of the motives.
Not complicated.
Moronic
from the article...
"Unfortunately for drivers, gas prices often go up during the summer, starting around Memorial Day.
In May 2022, U.S. consumers are paying an average of $1.50 per gallon more than they were at the same time in 2021, according to AAA. The reasons are many and varied, but two causes are soaring inflation and the fact that many countries, including the U.S., have cut off oil imports from Russia, one of the world's top oil producers, due to the war in Ukraine. This volatility has shaken up the crude oil markets and continues to push prices higher.
But fuel prices typically increase every summer, and some of the reasons are fairly logical. More people traveling, especially on family vacations and road trips, increases demand. Also, in the spring months, energy companies conduct maintenance on their refineries, shutting them down and limiting capacity until late May.
Because of these disruptions, oil supplies can become stretched. In addition, natural disasters, like hurricanes, can increase prices by disrupting transport routes and damaging refineries and other infrastructure.
But did you know that the gasoline sold during the summer is actually different — and more expensive to produce — than that sold in the winter? In this article, we'll take a look at why summer fuel prices are higher, focusing on the annual shift from winter-grade fuel to summer-grade fuel."
------------------
The American public is obviously under stress at the pump, for the reasons noted in the article...and the President is doing what he can to alleviate even more stress that is known to occur every summer.
Why argue against such efforts?...I don't get it.

Nor does anyone else.
demand. Are you with me so far? Econ 101 says high demand drives up price so are you admitting that is what mainly goes into the current high prices?
The primary problem in the energy market at the moment is constrained supply. A look at inventory levels in oil straight through to distillates tells that story. This, plus the extra demand of the summer driving season has caused higher prices. Rather than addressing the supply situation, the Biden administration is eliminating the gasoline tax. The elimination of this tax is likely to increase demand further since it will have the effect of slightly lowering prices (at first). This is not helpful to the situation in any way other than for Biden to claim he is doing something. When prices inevitably adjust to reflect this increased demand versus the constrained supply, Biden and Granholm will claim that evil refiners pocketed the tax savings. The script is already written for the bullshit we will hear in the coming months.
...during which he'll discuss that issue along with many others that involve U.S. policy in the region (e.g. Iran, Israel, etc.)...for the moment, however, the constrained supply issue is "Baked In" to our high gas prices...so too are the industry's seasonal changes (see my link).
Also, your post led me to call our family business and economist PhDs...their shared comment was that the current situation is "Inelastic"...i.e. in spite of high prices, there are lots of people on the road...some for pleasure, but many because the have to (work, etc.)...so a short term price reduction (tax relief) won't likely spur a countervailing change in demand...that jibed with my thoughts and the reason for calling them.
There's no need for you to be a "Debbie Downer" ;-)...this is a good thing.

wrong people can troll as long as they know what they're talking about, you sound outright silly AF.
Demand for various commodities rises seasonally, but elections only occur once in a while. This policy has a clear motive. If it’s permanent, you’ve sold me on it.
That’s IF the number you quote isn’t an outright lie. The technicality of specifying just one small piece of time makes me think it was just cherry-picked rather than lied about.
Regardless, how absurd is it when the MSM tries to lie that production is greater under Biden?
normally even-keeled Chris is loosing his mind.
