...without the proper defined framework in place as to what is to follow.
(Gates' Wyoming project, at least in the near term, also requires enriched uranium from none other than...Russia. )

more funding has been approved for NuScale's Small Modular Reactor design...these are two critical (pardon the pun) GEN-IV projects for our future...they are due to be operatonal in the 2028 time frame....these things take time...and meanwhile Joe is doing his best to keep the reactors we already have, on-line.
Yes, we have a vocal faction of "No Nukes" in the Democratic Party...but we also have, what I'll term "Passive Aggressives" in the Oil & Gas Industry who want to hold onto their profits a bit longer.

Which makes investments in Nuclear just a hair over 1%, that isn't prioritizing Ty, no matter how you spin it.
which breaks that amount into various 'chunks'...it's not just for "windmills" and solar panels.

For reference, it's estimated that around $100B of PPP payments were fraudulent, $6B for not building new, but attempting to keep existing online. Stupid.
turn away from Fossil Fuels...nada...and the O&G boys will ride their "Cash Cow", with GOP cover, until we're bone dry...and then they'll start screaming....if not by 2050, then not long after that.
We need 'Solidarity' between Left and Right on an energy strategy (I'm fully aware of the 'No Nukes' and doing my part to help my congressman)...we can't keep delaying or shifting directions whenever there's an admin change.
Naturally, I wish we had stayed the course on nuclear, but there's still time left to demonstrate the new technologies, get them licensed, and start siting/constructing....that's where the big bucks will come in. These demonstration projects are the right ones...they aren't being choked for funding...as long as we can anticipate their successes and be ready with an implementation plan we'll be ready before it's too late...when that is 'exactly'?...don't know...but the sooner we get rolling the better off we'll be...no time to sit on our hands.
Debating on this website can be fun at times, but this issue is the "Real Deal"...I'm sure everyone would agree that without adequate and reliable energy sources to maintain - and expand - our capabilities, we're in trouble...so don't hesitate to contact your representative/Senator and let them know how concerned you are and that you want ACTION...NOW.
