It was ever an uphill battle.

We shipped Britain weapons and ammo in 1940. We didn’t give it to them - we “lent” it (“lend-lease), which was a preposterous excuse,
We sent surplus weapons to defeat the Soviets in Afghanistan - which contributed to the fall of the USSR.
Now we’re arming the Ukrainians. And rightly so.
This whining is bullshit.
You get to talk about it and it’s news. We need to get countries off the USAs tit. Now, if the Ukraine want to buy those free weapons, I’m all for it. I’m sure that isn’t happening and we are just giving shit away.
Putin is a very, very bad person who will ravage the world if allowed to do so. He’s not the only one.
The US must defend those willing to fight for themselves (that wasn’t really true in Afghanistan).
Unfortunately, the Euros appear to value cheaper energy more than their neighbors freedom. This is why the undoing of Trump’s energy policy and exporting plans by Biden was so devastating when also combined with Biden’s concomitant facilitation of the completion of Russia’s pipeline around Ukraine to Europe (Nordstream 2).
This emboldened Putin to invade Ukraine who knew the Euros wouldn’t help if they were dependent on his oil and NG. Despite an amazing fight by Zelensky, it is proving to be true still unfortunately.
We are wasting everyone’s time and many more are dying if the lazy leeches in Europe aren’t willing to truly pitch in as well. We cannot prosecute this war alone from the US by proxy.
If the left is in favor of anything, it can't be good for the nation. That's how it always works out. It didn't take the Rs all that long to disremember the Afghanistan exit tragedy and keep the money train flowing to Ukraine. Those who are the big war hawks around here have no blood invested in this. They post like the Ukraine war is a college football Saturday. Rah Rah Rah. Is anybody talking peace? McConnell? McCarthy? Graham? Romney? Lizzy?
Can we stop pretending you are from Philadelphia.
If we were serious about this war we would have troops fighting beside them but alas we are not.
