Let’s say the FBI grabbed every bloody thing it could during the raid and this includes evidence of criminality totally unrelated to what they were authorized to search for. That might be barred in a criminal case as obtained illegally, a theory propounded by our liberal justices. Of course, this is irrelevant because even if they can’t convert Trump they can smear him. THIS was the objective of the raid. Every bloody thing they find will be grist for the MSM.
Does this framework make sense?
1) There is a dispute between the national archives and Trump over which documents he was allowed to take.
2) This implies that the Archive knows exactly what he has taken.
3) This dispute has been ongoing, and Trump has already returned some documents.
4) The dispute about the remaining documents should be a matter for a court to decide. Just because the Archive says he doesn't have a right to them doesn't make it so.
5) The raid only makes sense if:
a) Trump has specifically denied having some documents that the Archive knows he has.
b) The Archive convinced a court that some of the documents were so sensitive from a national security standpoint that they should be seized and held until a decision is made.
6) If a), there is a legal problem for Trump...particularly if a subpoena was already issued for the docs. If b), a subpoena would have been a better approach.
There was a dangerous patter during the Trump administration re Trump's cavalier handling of highly classified documents and information.
When he reluctantly left office (following his unsuccessful coup), Trump took a bunch of highly classified shit that he was told that he couldn't take. National security protocols exist for a reason.
Hence, the ONGOING crime(s) began on whatever day Trump stole the shit from the White House. [The National Archives were the first to identify missing documents]
Since JAN 2021, has there been additional crimes? Who knows.
Do I believe the search warrant was executed merely because the Government got tired of saying "Mr. Trump ... would you return the shit you stole ... pretty please?" No, I think there is more going on.
I get it that the Republican party's policy is "own the libs" and nothing else, but why you anoint and defend a full time loser, grifter of that party is beyond me.
Fact: Trump knew the stuff he took from the White House shouldn't have been at Mar-o-Lago. The fact that he didn't just turn them over speaks volume. He deserved the search/raid because he's a shit bird.
I consider Trumo an albotross around the neck of the country.
But I am keenly aware of precedents and slippery slopes.
This raid was a significant departure for use of the FBI far political purposes and if alowed to stnd sets a tone of intimidation for political oponents.
I'm sure the left would howl if the tables were turned... AND THEY SHALL BE!

(your words, not mine), how does that implicate Trump exactly? They provided 15 boxes of documents at the records request previously. Do you really think Trump knew what got packed into every box when he was leaving the white house? I thought you were certain that he was taking part in the insurrection and undermining the election... how would he have time to do that and also be certain that he kept his grubby hands on classified information in boxes that would be shipped to his residence?

When executing a search warrant (authorized by the judicial branch -- check 'n balance #1), law enforcement may only seize items within the scope of the parameters of the search warrant.
Hence, if a search warrant authorizes the search of one's text messages and emails between July 1st -- July 31st, the police cannot go on a fishing expedition through one's entire digital universe. Nor may a search warrant be overly broad -- what the founders deemed a "general warrant."
While executing a lawful search warrant, law enforcement may seize items in plain view that are obviously criminal -- e.g., an ounce of meth sitting on the coffee table.
Law enforcement may go back to the magistrate and ask for a second search warrant. Hence, if there is a chopped up body laying on the kitchen floor, such "new evidence" will provide additional probable cause to expand the scope of the search.
Any party with "standing" -- those folks with an expectation of privacy in the place(s) being searched, -- can file a lawsuit if law enforcement has overstepped their bounds, or if one is charged criminally, a defendant can file a motion to suppress/exclude any evidence unlawfully seized by the authorities (check 'n balance #2)
And why would they kick them out unless they wanted to do something they didn’t want seen?

We have already seen one FBI agent get caught altering documents to spy on Trump from this department.
Never mind the DNA hit.
Never mind the social media post showing the accused displaying same gun.
They know the documents that Trump stole when he left office.
The DOJ will compare/contrast that list with what they retrieve from Trump’s Florida residence. Ideally, everything is accounted for.
Oh, and very likely the FBI filmed their search.
Yep.

…..unless POTUS is actually just a figurehead and isn’t making the decisions.
No matter how you slice it, Dems are lying, and then simultaneously telling everyone to trust them.
Why would Dems lie unless they know that they did something wrong?

Ought to be the UHND motto.
Do you really claim he didn’t know? Do you really claim that he wouldn’t give a heads up to the White House? Ridiculous.

an archival issue?!
Utter bullshit.

When did anyone say the AG would not have been involved here?
The White House says it was not informed. The DOJ does not take orders from the White House.
But you know better!
