Wilmington Country Club sits on a beautiful property, adjacent to Winterthur in Delaware’s chateau country, only a few miles north of Wilmington.
The South Course is the real deal, a classic no nonsense no gimmicks track. Have played a dozen or so times over the years. Always a treat.
The PGA scrambled the order of the holes which the members play:
10, 13, 14, 15, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
1, 2, 3, 4, 16, 17, 11, 12, 18
Enjoy the coverage.
Any observations you can share from your day on the course?...btw, it appeared to me that the greens got a bit 'dicey' over the weekend with several top players missing short putts...could 'lip read' Rory once wondering if the cup on one hole had been set like a "volcano"...otherwise, a good challenge.
Missing fairways or being above the hole made it tough to score. It is a demanding course. Sunday’s pin placements made it that much more difficult.
What you learn from watching these guys is what we know. Driving a ball 300+ yards is meaningless. Plenty of high school and college kids can do the same, albeit not with the same consistency.
The iron play and the short game (especially the short game) separates these players from the rest of mankind. Their ability to save par and score is brilliant.
I never practice. But, for those who have the time and inclination, hitting balls at the range should take a back seat to practicing chipping and putting. That is where one can best improve their game.

the uninterrupted broadcast is a real treat...nothing quite like match play...and 9 rounds of it for the Finalists...
Not to be overlooked is the course and setup...great old-style layout coupled with 5-inch rough, plus fast undulating greens... makes it a serious challenge for those players...no place for the over 40 crowd.
