I can tell you it's currently a very popular view in Asian countries (among political analysts, talkshow hosts, activists...) that US know its decline and can't compete economically. So US started to go a different route, a political route by pushing so called values and democracy, creating tensions and even wars, either cold war or hot war.

and order, the coup attempt on the US government and elections process - the attack on free speech, the successful attack on women’s rights’, hate speech directed towards our gay brothers’ and sisters’, over the counter assault rifle sales, militia groups touting one time Nazi slogans, hate against our Black and Brown neighbors, - anti - other speechifying against all faiths that are not Christian, … Should I go on?

Yeah, I guess he may have a point - but it’s not a worthy one.
