At least on Earth II.
Are we going to have Special Masters inventory search warrants in cases involving terrorists, mobsters, drug dealers, and child pornographers? Is this the new precedent?
Three questions for you:
1) Why did Trump take (steal) the classified information when he left office?
2) Should the rule of law apply to Trump?
3) Why did Trump misrepresent to DOJ in June that any and all classified documents had been returned, when in fact, all such classified information was not returned?
How do you establish intent on 1 & 3? Did he knowingly take classified material? If no, then he may very well have believed he was in compliance and therefore not intentionally misleading the DOJ? As for 2 the PRA is silent on a number of these aspects? Similarly he did not believe he had violated the act?
“I had no idea I even had that stuff” won’t fly, especially when Trump has already said he declassified the documents, which is more malarkey.
Stark — apply the same facts to any high ranking military officer or intelligence agent. It is bad enough that the documents ever went to Mar-A-Lago in the first place. Really bad. But, deliberately playing keep away and deliberately falsifying what was returned makes it inevitable that Trump will be charged.
DOJ has no choice. Otherwise, they could never enforce the same laws against any other American.

I understand your point about other government officials/military officials wrt classified documents. But we cannot apply those fact since this is yhe president correct? I'm not being a jerk but isn't the only similar circumstance to this bill and Obama? Isn't that how we apply the facts?
One of our first orientation assignments was to listen to Malcolm Gladwell discuss casuistry and its development under the Jesuits. It was a fascinating discussion!
I just stated law school two weeks ago! Gimme a chance!

Yes. Unprecedented.
Why is that? Well, no other former US President even thought about treating top secret documents like a baseball card collection.
Let us know when your ready to answer the three yes/no questions.
Not the DOJ. Not the CIA. Not the media (obviously). Not scientists. Not the FBI or the State Dept or the NSA.
All politicized!
The only thing a person can really trust? Trump.

Trump supporters will go their graves as shameful traitors.

Old City Philadelphia is quite vibrant. Was there on Sunday.
During the winter months, we regularly catch a late afternoon independent film at the Ritz Five and then grab a meal and some drinks. The good life.

All their motives the FBI, the media (obviously) et Al have been altruistic and honest? Set aside your obsession and hatred for Trump and answer honestly. They have done NOTHING in your opinion to warrant a fair measure of this distrust. It's everyone else's fault. Is that your contention?
What are your other real examples to prove these agencies shouldn't be trusted?
You're a smart guy. Well, you tell us you are anyway. Some guy did something, indeed.
You guys don't need to carry water for Chris. He can speak for himself.
Trump's DOJ didn't prosecute any of the so called maleficence that you guys do this day still bring up.

the other day. Nothing is going to change in DC until politicians and government employees are held accountable and charged when they commit crimes. That includes both parties.
by officers with all citizens and noncitizens suspect?
Is this what you believe?

is evil and divisive, we lose our democracy.
And every time you support DJT you create needless confusion for the gullible morons like the stooges Baron reaches.
I think it's quite clear that the FBI & DOJ, at least some very high-ranking members - for reasons unbeknownst to most - have willing traded their impartiality to become political players. I think there can be no debate the media is openly hostile and negative towards conservatives. This goes as far back as Bush II and the fake national guard stuff. It became apparent to most then and the media has since doubled down on those efforts.
And it's not a matter of me supporting Trump (I don't). It's a matter of simple fairness. These things are easily preached, but rarely acted upon - by some (with significant influence) of the aforementioned agencies noted by Chris. Garland is not a good actor. Wray too is slimily. As is Comey. And these are the gatekeepers. The ones making the calls on who to go after and when. They're not acting "in defense of democracy" they're settling scores.
it the more you believe it. The circle logic is a huge part of MAGA conservatives and Republicans thinking in general.
Yes, I dislike trump and trumpians, all who support him because they do not represent America and democracy.
Yeah, bad apples should be removed.
The laptop of Hunter still has no bearing on the shit show that is Trump.
And of course I believe it. I wouldn't have typed it. Not sure I understand your point.

Do anything wrong, they have nothing to be afraid of? Right?
Armed IRS “agents” are going to be busting down doors and seizing people!
Worry about. If everything is on the up and up with the Mar-a-Lago search and seizure, they have nothing to worry about. Amirite?
