As this 'Mar-a-Lago' Confidential documents case progresses, it's important for everyone to
listen to what Trump's former Communications staff member, Stephanie Grisham, has to say...especially toward the end of this short video...she clarifies, in simple terms, why DJT can't just wave his hand over Classified documents and declare them "De-Classified" without going through a process for each of them that informs the agencies responsible for their content, to see if they agree, and if they do, give them sufficient time to 'move and/or deal with' the Sources and Methods that could very well be covered in those documents...to the best of my knowledge, this has not happened.
IMO, DJT is totally boxed in on this...thanks to his own big mouth, and inability to think and reason...be that as it may, keep Ms. Grisham's words in your mind as this all plays out. I fully expect her to be 'attacked' by several posters here, but there are attorneys with direct experience in defending and prosecuting Confidential document cases who say the exact same thing...she just simplifies it for you.

You have the liberty of closing your eyes and ears to what's happening, but DJT doesn't...IMO the
walls of Mar-a-Lago will all have ketchup streaks on them as a result of this investigation.

Presidential papers belong to the “people” — maintained by the National Archives.
The “declassified” narrative is nonsense. Typical Trump false narrative being fed to his moron base because he is aware that more serious criminal statutes come into play with classified material.
But, under any scenario, removing President papers violates the law. Imagine a departing President loading White House furniture, computers, and paintings into moving vans and leaving the incoming President with a vacant empty house. That would be theft.
I'm sure Team Trump will find some precedent they can effectively argue.
This whole thing will get settled. No one is going to jail. Lots of wiggle room in the PRA. Especially element 6 of that statute. No way this rises to the level of the espionage.
Trump will get indicted only if (1) the evidence is compelling and (2) the wrongdoing is egregious.
None of us know the scope of those two factors.
Time will tell.
