Yes, I realize I may be missing something on this, but so far…
If Ms. James really wanted to help the public, she should reveal the names of these banks Donald Trump supposedly defrauded so that we may all ask for a loan. Does she really believe folks in the general public are going to believe banks are accepting valuations and appraisals based solely on the borrower’s assertions?
Does she really believe that most people who have taken out a loan or have gone through a mortgage application process would be sympathetic to banks? Does she really think that folks struggling to pay off a 30-year mortgage would be sympathetic to banks, especially banks that aren’t even claiming to have been harmed? Evidently, Donald Trump proved to be a good risk for them because the loans were paid off.
Does Letitia James realize that Joe Biden just proposed that the debt for millions of borrowers be waived even though they agreed to pay their student loans, and many taxpayers are not happy about that? So why would she take this moment to highlight the fact that President Donald Trump is a man that pays off his debts and none of the banks are upset or claiming to be harmed by that?
It seems that Letitia James is doing all she can to highlight Biden’s elitism while helping to demonstrate that President Trump is a man closer to the people.
We can’t assume that Letitia James is a complete moron because I can imagine that there are times when banks have been defrauded, but until something more is revealed, for now it seems that Ms. James is asserting that it is against the law for a bank to be a company that assesses its own risk before handing out money to someone, and then if it is later discovered that the risk assessment was sound and profitable by virtue of the fact that the granted loan was paid back then legal charges must be brought against the borrower for failing to fail to live up to their obligations.
We may all learn the details of criminality when more is revealed and the banks come forward with their own accounts of victimization, but for now this all leaves us wondering if President Donald Trump is closer to the average citizen than we thought. Why is Letitia James trying to help him? Doesn’t she realize that this is the last thing that Joe Biden and the Democrats want?
Maybe Ms. James is Ultra MAGA too.

You need an appraisal for a tax valuation. You need an appraisal for a loan. There is no obligation to inform tax authorities if your loan appraisal is higher than your property tax appraisal. It's the job of the municipality to figure that out, not the owner.

Well, at least we know the ground rules now. Once these charges are adjudicated, through all of the appellate courts, I hope we find an honest jurist or two who will insist that Letitia James provide ample proof that this prosecution is not a selective persecution. At a minimum she should by provide 400 to 500 other New York real estate deals out of the thousands that demonstrate everyone in New York is driving within the acceptable speed limit, and not the 200 mile per hour or so as some say is the case for President Trump.
Either way Letitia James wins. Think of it this way, even if James proves to be bias and other guilty parties are found, she still wins because she will be a hero to all those high tax blue state governors and legislators who will have a clearly defined map to take another bite out of the Apple. None of the fat cats will rest easy. The Big Apple again can be a model for all. Yes, this one will be very interesting. I thought I made clear that we should expose as much and as many as possible which would include Democrats and Republicans.
Furthermore, this specific circumstance regarding President Trump would be particularly useful because most common folk have never heard of the idea that you could send to a municipality what you think you tax liability will be, or even what the square footage of your property is and in essence tell the government what your tax liability will be, with no one having any oversight to sign off on it. Maybe there are other areas of the county that do this besides The Big Apple. More transparency is not necessarily a bad thing. Who knows we could probably solve a lot of deficit issues in states that have mismanaged pensions once everything, and everyone, is exposed.
Again, even if it’s inadvertent, it looks like Letitia James will be a hero. Also, President Donald Trump will be lauded again for allowing democrats to assist him in exposing the seedy underbelly of how thing really work. Let’s see it all.
