That guy gives his all every single game and will wind up being an all time fan favorite at ND.
ND can really shoot the free throws.

That has been what ND lacked in previous years. The guards have great intensity and Farrell has that Syracuse point guard mentality. I cannot believe how quick he is to the basket. Nice to see VJ turn it up a notch at the end last night. He seems to drift off for periods and is the worst player on the floor if he is not focused. Matt Ryan is also a liability in games now. Much better suited to spot up against weak competition than driving to the hole against better teams.
Villanova looming in a couple weeks. This is our first major test.
A bit worried about how we'll do against teams with size like NC and VA, but this team can go far.
Pflueger. Bonzie is amazing at 6'5", sort of a Bailey Howell(remember him?) with more talent and can shoot free throws and draws a shit load of fouls. That is so important in close games. The only guy that scares me is Vasturia whose jump shot turns more line drive when the pressure gets greatest. We will see. VJ is never down for a whole game. Even Geben, though a little careless with fouls hustles his ass off and will get better as the season goes on.(Not sure about his foul shooting though, but his form looks good so maybe he just missed a couple)
nts. We'll miss him a bit I think, but not for his foul shooting...
Bonzie, and I think it was Laphonso Ellis that said this last night, his foul shots make such a pure sound going through the hoop. Also love his intensity and energy out there. His size disadvantage on the defensive end is made up for with his quickness and ability to create on the offensive end.
I am sure Brey will try to force the other team to go small, trade 3s for 2s. Also when we get into the bonus, drive the lane to take advantage of our superior FT shooting.
Looking forward to seeing what we do against Nova and Purdue. If we get through that stretch with one loss or less, really good sign for the outlook of this team.
ACC and NCAA tourneys. I wish we could have preserved his first year with a redshirt but alas that is the way it is.
They've got a couple excellent big guys. Geben will have to step up a lot. He got into foul trouble last night, but he gave them a lot in the second half before he fouled out. I would still like to see Mooney get minutes. He may be needed in the conference season.

YouTube now allows us to watch whole games of these kids in HS so we're not just watching highlights from the summer circuit. Mooney really impressed me. He already has a body that's ready for ACC play. As Mooney develops, he will create matchup problems because his range goes out to the the arc. I hope Humphery helps him also develop some tools down low.
Big body, fundamentally sound on both ends, good shooter.
