ND should have won that game by 40. Started off cold but then shot their way out of it and played decent D as well. VJ's dunk was a thing of beauty and from then on he was unstoppable. Imagine if he was just 1/2 decent against Nova and Purdue. We would be sitting in the Top 3 in the country. Love the contributions from the center position. Turnovers are limited and they do get rebounds. I expected nothing all year.
For a great seed in the tourney, we need to nearly all of these games against the bottom half of the ACC.
For me the FSU game was the best we played all year and still lost. That should have been a blowout loss and Brey kept them focused. I do not complain about refs but we got hosed that game. We have 4-5 guys that can get hot at any time and that is a huge plus.
So the team did pretty well earlier today.
And squeezes rebounds. And apparently is a decent foul shooter. He made a great catch and finish off a pass that got deflected and threw off the timing today. He is performing his role beautifully this year.
His hands have really improved over the last year. He does not put in on the floor like ZA and that used to be a nightmare. Stay within your limitations. Torres and Geben are doing a great job supplying center minutes. Hats off to VJ today. He played above the rim and did not bail in the paint. He starts getting his points and we will be a great team come tourney time. They refuse to lose. I wonder who got in Brey's ear. Maybe RH has been an influence.
