"And there will be nights the 3 isn't falling, the other team's bigs go wild, and ND can lose by 20. That will happen at least once this year."
So 17 to Virginia isn't 20, but one of my assessments actually panned out, for once, except it was really Parrantes that did the damage.
We run our offense beautifully, defend with great energy, and play with enthusiasm and teamwork. That's why I find ND teams fun to watch.
But, we obviously are a small team and are vulnerable on the boards, where we got absolutely murdered last night. Colson does the best he can, but is undersized for his position, and when he is kept off the glass we are in trouble. We had two (2) offensive rebounds last night.
I would be very surprised if we don't see this repeated as the season goes on and other teams start to pick up the pace...which the best teams do as the season progresses. For us, there isn't much you can do about a lack of size.
So while you were undoubtedly correct, i don't really think it was a very fancy prediction.
you see how Louisville killed Pitt? It can happen to anyone who is a decent team, with a chance to win, but not a great team with no chance to lose. There are maybe 4 great teams in the country but even they are not great enough to not get beat by someone who just has a better day.
They beat us to the loose balls; they shot the three well.
We were cold and seemed to be off in most facets-weren't moving well on D; little flow on O; little backside baseline help on D. = spankin'.
Torres and Geben were non-existent. Not sure what's going on with E. Burns and Mooney.
I think we'll be OK.
Torres and Geben that tell me they would get much playing time from any other Top 15 school
They remind me of the old days with DIgger in the 80's/90's with the tall, heavy white guys he would recruit who generally had little impact other than to take up space
We are a very good team, will make the final 32 and maybe the Sweet 16.....not sure we will make it past that this year
They are still fun to watch and get a lot more out of their talent than the football team has for two decades
Geben was non existent and this would have been a good spot for Mooney if he had enough playing time.
