Gibbs' "energetic" technical when we were down by about six and had just scored when he made them turn the ball over. I think with a solid offensive effort after the steal we might have picked up some energy. Another time was when we were down six and Ryan had just hit one of his beautiful threes and we got a turnover and Vasturia, who shoots the flattest shot in the world, took a three and of course was short, when he had Ryan wide open and in position with his footwork to bury another one right away. Feed the guy who just made one. I guarantee he would have made it and brought us to within 3 causing them to doubt themselves and a pickup in energy by us.
1), that 10-0 start killed us, I'm not sure we ever recovered..Oh yes, we got to 15-11 or so, maybe even 22-19, but we never caught them..And it seemed to me, ND did a good job of breaking the press early, had decent shots, but went, what 0 for 4, or 6 to start..2)Those "rainbows" treys that went in after a couple times we got to 6..They probably didn't shoot that well from 3 point land all yr..A bit of luck was involved there..
Thanks to the team though for a very good entertaining season..And especially departing seniors, Steve Vasturia, and VJ Beachem..ND has a lot of offense to make up next yr, with their graduation..
It was at that point I definitely knew we were finished.
