The cesspool of college athletics would be a great way for some universities to break off and form their own true identity. It would be the best conference in basketball for some of us and the passion would be back for most fans who now see their teams languishing in boring and geographically challenged conditions. ND and BC do not belong in the ACC. Just think of the weekly match ups that would occur and the bragging rights from winning.
Villanova,Gonzaga,Dayton,G-town,ND,St.Joe,St Johns, Marquette,St. Mary's,St.Louis,Depaul,BC,LaSalle to name a few. I would rather play in this conference than watching us play Clemson,FSU, or GTech. We have nothing in common with those squads. Return to your roots and have fun claiming bragging rights for the Catholic way. ND has no chance to be elite but you could claim top billing in this conference and call yourself champs.
byu and perpperdine are the only exceptions, but they're religious unis, nonetheless.....shout out to the usf dons.....

If the NCAA starts paying players (which I think will eventually happen), ND would be out. There would probably be some other Catholic schools with a similar stance, as well.
You make some great points. All of the schools would have the same philosophy of academics and athletics. Great point about the nonsense of BC and ND (not) being in the ACC.
Let's not kid ourselves
ND-NOVA.ND-GTOWN.ND-Marquette had some unreal games over the past decades. There were rivalries there and bragging rights. Now we have none.
