One of the earliest Irish stars I remember seeing play.
He played in the first game in the Convocation Center against Jabbar's UCLA. The pre-game hype was electric because Sid's high school gave Jabbar his only loss ever... and we had Austin Carr.

picked to give UCLA a run for the championship with Bob Arnzen and Bob Whitmore. I remember seeing the opening game in the Convocation Center with them against UCLA and for a while we had UCLA psyched out, with Lou Alcindor even air balling a foul shot while our crowd was going berserk. Unfortunately it did not last.
For awhile Johnny Dee was a heck of a recruiter.
