Let's hope he's half as good as these guys claim he is. One thing is for sure, he does have the build and the physical sort of game they describe. Doherty will redshirt as a freshman.

Love the bar fight comment (DE or TE if b-ball doesn't work out)
If he sits out his first year it would help. I have seen him play and while not a future AA, he is a b- ball player. ACC might be a reach but the kid gives it everything he has and he loves b-ball.
I really thought Tom Knight would develop, but it never happened.
Doherty's certainly more skilled than Torres, and Torres provides some valuable minutes to the team. I suspect Doherty is a little better than you may think, given the coaches who came calling once he announced he wouldn't reclassify.
Dude is skinny. Glad he's reshirting. A lefty it appears. If he turns out to be like the kid Chrabz, who was from Rhode Island and turned put to be a very good player for Butler, we'd be lucky. I'm not convinced baed on the film available that he'll make any impact in the ACC.
Pretty cut, and should bulk up as a college player
Runs 238 on 6'7". Probably comparable in muscularity to Elijah Burns, who is a junior in the program. Most every scout notes his build and physicality.
Every site I've see shows a lanky kid who is 40 lbs shy of 238???
Lists him at 225 here but he's apparently put on another dozen or so pounds since then.
