Now that tOSU appears to be headed back to the national poll rankings, I bet Dane Goodwin flips back to the Buckeyes. I hope not, but such is the fickle world of recruiting 18 year olds.
And also given the fact that Brey made clear to him that Carmody would be first in the pecking order before Goodwin even visited, I doubt it even more.
He was committed to OSU for over 2 years but bolted shortly after Motta departed and the replacement hired.
He fought to get into this ND class calling Brey up to see if they would consider taking him after Brey said he was only going after bigs basically post Carmody. He had other choices.
Maybe OSU is on his radar again but he knew their coach before he committed to us. He probably talked to his Dad (a BB guy) before he committed to us.
He visited OSU after Holtman was hired. OSU did pick up Luther Muhammad. He plays the same position as Dane but so does Carmody.
Would Dane be a good fit on a Holtman team?
Seeing as he has already signed his Letter of Intent.
So unless he wants to sit out a year, he's coming to ND.
I apologize - glad to know he actually signed the LOI. I thought if he wasn’t he would flip since he is only a stone’s throw away for the school and yesterday’s atmosphere was one a recruit would love to experience. Thank you for the updated information.
No worries.

I would say, Brey had a very good 2018 recruiting period. That class looks great. And, the program is going in the right direction. That was likely a pull on Goodwin, as much as anyting else.
