Has anyone else noticed that if an athletic team decides to really play defense, Notre Dame just cannot score? I mean, not just difficulty in scoring - I'm talking about not being able to put the ball into the bucket at all.
When this happens, Farrell can't find any room to shoot, and no one else can make any sort of moves to free up any space. I know Mike Brey is supposed to be an offensive genius, but in all the years I've watched his teams play, they seem to always have great difficulty in scoring if athletic opponents decide to hunker down and stop ND from scoring. And I say that as someone who generally likes the job Brey has done, but he's got to do a better job of finding an offensive set or pattern that can break this down better.
